Yes I did some evil stupid SEO in the first say 4 months I had the domain but after I was clean. Now 2 1/2 years later with PR5 tons of backlinks several from large places like engadget, kotaku, wikipedia, etc I rank for next to nothing. I get less than 1% of my traffic from Google. 90% comes from Gamerankings, Metacritic for the game reviews we post. Any advice? oh domain: gamebrink.com Might as well mention it can't do any more harm.
Links from Wikipedia don't affect your PR as they have a nofollow attribute. Your site is not banned from Google. I don't konw about the ranking, that might be not so easy to answer.
I'm showing 173,000 pages indexed with 11,000 in the main index. When I did a site:www.gamebrink.com, I see that most of your pages are displaying the same description, "GameBrink1 (geymbringk) - noun 1. Where Japanese video games live on the internet. 2. Import video games encyclopedia. ...". The handful of pages I looked at had little or no content, with lots of links to other pages and lots of ads. I would work on adding content at least to your upper level pages and do something about those meta descriptions. Good luck to you!
Yeah you aren't sandboxed, you're most likely supplementaled. Most of your pages meta description; ouch.
Yes the meta is lacking on upper pages but they're fine for game level pages like http://www.gamebrink.com/xbox-360/2650-BioShock-info.html Urls are rewritten with keywords. I have other sites that do just fine but this one google just hates.
hi mate, your site is not sandboxed. i have a small tip about the sandbox. if your site url is sitename.com, you must search google with "sitename" word. if you find your site on the first page with sitename search, you are not snadbox. i have done it for you. and your site is NOT sandbox.
You are not banned in Google you just need to work on your title tags and content. Think of your titles as your words that you want people to find you. I wouldn't type in "Where Japanese Games Learn English" to find your home page but I might think of Playstation 3 video games or xbox games etc..just look at what your selling or offering and put it in content...Good, unique content and in your titles, headers etc.
I don't think you are sandboxed. You have done a poor job at SEOing your site, that's why your rankings are so low.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I have to point this out to you. You have hundreds of links on your front page, and no actual text, which is one main issue, the other half of your problem is that your site is Its shite, content light and SEOverdosed. Besides google advert text, do you have any non link content on the front page? The entire think looks like a link farm.
try to concentrate on your main keyword when promoting the site or when building a link but first you need to optimize your page.
Wow! 167,000 pages indexed are they all original content? Diverse Title Tags (with body). How about the other 1000 domains of yours how they doing? I didn't think they handed out mdn.net accounts to anyone other than premium high traffic guys. ( how do you join the club? ) we have the same alexa so I will guestimate you get between 300 and 1000 uniques a day, am I right? I did the same thing you did at the exactly the same time maybe even, and google forgave me. But I think your looking for more traffic then you let on. In fact your alexa looks like your traffic is peaking right now even. Hmmm. Not sure what to suggest with that many pages indexed I would imagine their all uniqe content with over 200 words per page right? If not I maybe suggest starting a new domain and promoting them differently and getting where you are right now in under a year the way things are going it seems that might be just as easy but your links need more juice might I suggest some .edu, .gov and .mil juice that would kick it in the rear.
need some text in the front page...upper half of the page and topic need to be change to the keyword that you are aiming at, and also add meta code
the keywords you target is probably a competitive one, you get sandboxed for these terms. The other site you are competing probably is much more authoritative than your site
