Hi, i'm not satisfy with my current hosting and wish to shift to new hosting, will this affect my site ranking in Google? Thanks for your answer...
It depends on where your target market is. 4 example, if your market is in the US, then it doesn't matter moving your web from one US server to another US server.
yeah your serps will only be effected if you switch country's, Im not sure if your .com serps will get changed if you move to another country though because .com is not just us its global.
there are three things to think about. 1) if you switch to a host in a different country, you get better results in the country where your site is hosted. 2) if your host has lots of downtime, search engine spiders might turn up when your site is down and not index it 3) if you move lots of sites to the same IP address, links from one site to the other at the same IP don't count as much.
Yes changing of hosting can affect ranking.. but You can use 301 redirection for that... In order to transfer some link juice...
Be carfull !!! I changed hosting and made a stupid mistake by letting them take care of the data transfer... This stupid fxxks had my site down for 3 days !!! I lost 3 month of SEO work...lost all my ranking, what a shame... So make sure to change the DNS to the new one only AFTER all the data transfer is complete.Google does not like to enter a site and not get respond from the server...
Yea for some reason I switched from a shared host to a dedicated host for my consulting website... I moved the entire site over by hand, tested it everything, then moved DNS. Google completely deindexed by site for about 1 month. I was front page for VoIP Consulting, Linux Consulting, Unix Consulting etc... I'm still having problems with Google reindexing my site.. Yahoo and MSN didn't change, I'm still like #1 in MSN for VoIP Consulting. So who knows what Google is up to I can never figure it out... just when I think I have the formula I do something that "shouldn't hurt my ranking" and get screwed.
Nah that won't do anything to your serps, just make sure you don't change your genre of content drastically after the change of hosts
I do not think it will effect your ranking...He is asking about changing the server not moving to a server which has problems
make sure you do this 1) Move your website to the new host completely and "set it up" 2)Change dns (name servers) That way there is minimal down time, Your dns will change from your current host to your new host and you or anyone else won't even no it changed. I just did this yesterday because i wanted to move my site to a Canadian host, (thats where im from) and i saw 0 downtime and im now ranking page 1 in Google Canada for my targeted keywords.
