iit's already a month, and still not getting much.. not even a dollar.. i've been trying to improve my blog but still traffic is still very very low and adsense is the same.. my blog www.ubuntu4life.blogspot.com doesn't generate much income..help needed.. what should i do next?
What have you been doing promotion wise? Income will not just begin to pour in. It takes a lot of patience, especially with AdSense.
I would suggest the following: add more content.. LOTS MORE posts.. like, hundreds If you are targeting U.S. traffic, brush-up on your grammar & writing Move your adsense block from the bottom to the top Get backlinks to the page, and do other creative marketing to increase your traffic Do all those things, and do them right, and you're still looking at several months, perhaps a year or more before you start getting good traffic... That being said, even if you're getting gobs of traffic, I would guess that most people interested in Ubuntu are tech-savvy, and probably will not click ads - this will make earning income difficult..
I agree most people looking for tech-savvy niche online are not the type to click on ads. We have experineced this for quite awhile with our keyword research tools and free adsense site builders, but good luck none the less.
I have to tell you that blogs don't do well with Adsense, and that tech sites don't do well with Adsense, and that tech blogs do even worse. Honestly, you won't make any money for this site with Adsense. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
I run google adsense about 6 months period, just getting higher earning than initial stage Be patient, doing as the above instructor said. You will get a lot more $.. good luck
A start would be getting your site indexed in google. Purchase some decent backlinks and that will happen quickly.
As scriptillusion as said, the main problem is that tech-savvy people will usually not click ads. They know you get paid for everytime you click, they can see the ad box, and they know that its not an internal link that leads to other parts of your site (some of my users click it thinking it'll lead somewhere else). For example, the webmasters on DP probably don't click the ad on this forum much. Even though there are only 1 or 2 ads, they probably have a really low CTR, maybe 1 or 3%.
Try this experiment: start a new blog on an entirely different topic, something non-technical but not too general, ideally in an area where you have lots of experience that most other people don't. Write a similar number of posts in it and try to build a roughly equal number of backlinks. Do this for a month, and compare the Adsense income. I often find that income varies a great deal between topics, and it's the things that I didn't expect to do well that surprise me. Everything that Tearabite says is sound, but if you're going to do a lot of work then first find the right topic, otherwise it will be an uphill struggle with scant rewards.
