microsoft only creates operating systems for pocket pcs and smartphone.... microsoft wil never create a phone.. even if it did create a phone, iphone will still be better microsoft suks!!!
If Apple makes enough profit, MS might look into it. But, they'd have to compete with both Apple and RIM.
creating cell phone is different category than Microsoft's profession. Microsoft basically provides softwares, operating system etc. they are best with those.
What about the Xbox, and the Zune? I think they will, but it won't be good at all. Microsoft seems to have a habit of sucking at everything they try.
Yea, sucking at everything they try, while capturing most of the marketshare. You guys are idiots. You are probably posting this from your Windows anyways. The Zune will not be made into a phone anytime soon... certainly not this upcoming holiday season.
Well we all thought that mircrosft will never create a gaming system, and there you go. You got the xbox 360 now! All I can say that Microsoft is unpredictable and they can do anything they want. They have the money to make anything.
Actually, Microsoft may be making a Portable Xbox, kinda like the PSP. A Xbox and Zune product. That'd be pretty cool. Take a look at this patent by Microsoft: http://www.unwiredview.com/2007/04/20/microsoft-gaming-system-for-your-zune-xbox-pc-and-pda/
Actually, that's not totally accurate. Many knew. The Xbox wasn't about Microsoft building something to play games on. It was part of their long-term strategy to build an integrated media product that could deliver entertainment. And that's why they did it despite predicted losses. If they come out with a cell phone, it will be to integrate into their existing plan. Given the growth of media consumption on mobile devices, I wouldn't be too surprised to see it. But they won't release a general purpose phone, because it doesn't fit the profile. It would have to be something where they can capitalize on the media consumption and not simply be a vehicle for it. Phone sales aren't were the real money is at. I'm sure they have teams watching RIM and Apple. RIM's Blackberry is a business-class phone and the iPhone is consumer-class.
