We are thinking of spending money on purchasing a domain with existing pagerank for our new website. But then I came across an old article that said Google devalues PR when a domain expires. What about when you transfer ownership? Does domain hold on to PR? We don't want to spend big bucks on domain with PR, if the PR won't stick.
I have also herd that is is better to not let the domain expire but it should be not too hard to get it back to where it was if it does drop a place or two...
The pagerank is associated with the domain name , if the domain names expires then it looses the pagerank . but domain ownership change does not devalue it.
Depends on LINKS. If the links (IBL's) stay, and the content stays in its near or orig format for 2-3 months, your pr will stay. If the content or ibl's change, pr can and will drop.
