Someone gave me an infraction for supposed "hijacking" for spam?

I was laughing when I got this, because someone asked me which forum software was best to use. I simply suggested minibb because it is a free script and I've used it on one of my sites, I have no affiliation with the company, and someone in the thread had said which forum script did I think was better? So I simply replied. Someone got the wrong idea. So anyway, I think the person who did that must not have known what they were doing. There should be a way to appeal these infractions.

So how do you handle infractions that were given by someone whose interpretation of my post was wrong?

It's only you first one or second one after this post. Don't worry about it. they come and go. Only start getting worried when you get up to 8 or 9.

    Regards

I just think it's odd what someone considers spam.......I was simply replying to someone's question. If I had just posted it when it had no relevance to the thread, I could understand it being considered that. Strange I guess. I will just have to mind my p's and q's I guess :) I've never been on a forum that is so picky , but it's a good forum :)

I understand where you are coming from. I have received negative rep for suggesting my favorite tools when someone has asked the question in a forum!

I wonder if they wanted me to suggest a tool they made instead of one someone else made :)

you'll get another infraction for this post and one for the 2nd post in this thread, you could have used the edit, but now you just bumped the thread with a 2nd post

Thank you selltrib, I didn't realize that replying in my own thread was bumping a thread. :) LOL. Duh to the newb. I thought bumping a thread was when you bumped a really old thread

I would really really suggest you read this before posting any more in this thread.
