IMO, it's not a good idea although you can make quick money from it

I would like to know this too...

Another solution to this problem would be to offer "no follow" links or banners as sitewides. Obviously not many will be tempted to buy, but if your directory has a good traffic someone might want to get those spots to drive some traffic to his site or just for extra exposure.
This is what I'm going to do after PR update on PagePower. After I set up the Directories Battlefield and I've made the PagePower tool traffic went up quite a lot. with PS tool being so crap in a while, people went to check their PagePower instead, so having a good traffic I can't see why someone wouldn't get a sitewide....if not I'll use the space to advertise my other sites :)

You can remove at this moment if you're running 1.0 or 1.2. From memory, I think that Gabe just won't let you promote your site on the phpLB forum if you do remove the link.

there is nowhere it states that you must link back to phpLB. If you do, you can get your site on the "Sites" page of phplinkbid.com :)

I do wish to remove the link to phpLinkBid from my two bidding directories.
I wish Gabe introduced a feature via which can either buy a licence with no "powered by phpLinkBid" option.
That would make us take the decision easily.
Certainly i will opt for the licence then.

I have no problems selling sitewide links for a limited period of time for my bid directory. I did it before with a bid directory of mine which I have already sold since.
