hmm...what to do with the circle...
An adjustment...bevelled the edge of the circle and spread the text out so that it is easier to read when small...

Turns, I have a question, how do you get your font to still look ok when it's so small, no matter what I do mine always gets distorted when sized down..

Not sure...I'm using Fireworks to create the logo...what program are you using? I keep it quite thin.

Kia: thanks for offering to do additional changes. I will ask you to do some small alterations once I make up my mind. I will let this run for a while and I will announce the winner no later than Tuesday.

Turns, you are definitely doing better. I still feel like there is something missing. Perhaps making the gold look more like gold would be one. Also the edge of the medal/circle appears a little blurry to me. I like the idea of the 1 in a circle but I think it needs some touching up to make it look more corporate and modern

Shib: the way you displayed the text is a nice concept and I think it will work. However, the way you executed this concept is pretty poor. Too many colours that don't go well together and doesn't have the corporate, clean modern look I am after

jboo: that looks too cartoonish even though the number 1 is displayed in a very visible way. Again, I am after have the corporate, clean modern look which at the moment your logo is not achieving

If anyone else is contemplating entering this contest you are most welcome to do so. The prize may not be the greatest but I always provide prompt feedback and you know you will get paid.

Sorry Karmy, I actually think this is a step backwards. To me it looks like some kind of embroidery. I like the previous one better except that it was a little crowded and felt like it could be simplified and could also been made more visible (the text)

In an effort to try and help ProteinDude somewhat, i'd probably suggest having the 'Supplied By' part outside of the graphic you make, this gives you a less cluttered graphic and also, if you think about it, as 'award' wouldn't have the 'Supplied By' line on it. Just trying to help anyway! :)

    Some more modifications.
Fixed up the gold colour so that it looks gold and have also played with the circle a little.

I agree with both of you on that point. Here's an earlier suggestion I made to KiaOra on this thread: "However, I think that it will look better if you perhaps enlarged the number 1 and write the text outside the actual frame. That way the number 1will stand out even more." So I am on your side 100%;) I think the text could be outside the graphic. Kia paid attention to this and you can see this from the designs Kia provided (text outside the box in some of them).

DaveyBoy: I also got a "suggestion" for you: why don't you do one with the text on the outside. You may even get yourself the number 1 place in this contest and get the $20 even though it's not a big prize :D

Turns: I liked your concept from the beginning: a big number 1 and the text around it in some kind of a circle. And yet somehow it just doesn't do it for me the way you executed this concept. I can't give you directions because either my directions are wrong or it stops your creativity. Or maybe because this great concept is so simple that's what makes it so hard to execute.

Sb, I just don't like the shield concept. Shield in my mind says security not quality. I tried to tell you this twice and I don't think you read it. There is also too many colours and they don't seem to match.

Romlin: thanks for the entries mate. They are all very Aussie looking which is great. Even better, they are all very stylish, modern and elegant. What bugs me is that even thought they are so great and you have so much style, they somehow still don't match what I am after.

I like every single one of them and yet none of them match. I am after something more corporate in a sense. The roo looks great and yet doesn't match with what I am after. I actually like the blue one and the one with the flag the best but somehow the no. 1 needs to be bigger, more visible. I appreciate your entries and see if you have a chance to make the no 1 bigger and more visible somehow.
