Hello, I'd like to know your opinion: What about using adwords to promote adsense websites ? I've heard some people telling its very good, you can earn lot of money if you choose high rate keywords for adsense. What do you think? Have a nice day
The idea only works if your AdSense ads are paying on high cost keywords while you are bidding on low-cost AdWords keywords. Personally, I think the margin is generally too low if not non-existent. It's better to spend your time on SEO and increasing your organic search rank.
this is what call arbitrage, mid may of this year google sent out email to those who do this telling them that their account will be closed by june.
No they didn't. They terminated some low quality Adsense publishers. To the OP - see PPC Arbitrage. That sounds like what you're interested in.
Yeah, they only really banned MFA (Made for adsense) sites that had little to no content, and plastered with large blocks of Adsense that provided very poor user experience. There are people out there who are doing it smartly and still laughing their way to the bank.
Google on their part has been very ambiguous about their own arbitrage policy. The reason is this: More than anybody, Google makes a ton of money out off arbitrage. And yet they realize that too much MFA sites creates poor user experience and can turn people off to Google. If you email Google, they'll just reply back with some generic autogenerated email. My opinion is that while they don't necessarily endorse arbitrage, they aren't going all out to catch you if you're doing it in a way that isn't harming their business.
If you manage to have a good site with lot of content and high paying keywords, you can still do away with Arbitrage. You need to be careful with your Adwords though. The bids might lose position or be costly.
In my opinion, trying to make a profit with arbitrage is too much work for too little money. You would have to take a highly organized and automated approach, with a huge number of keywords to have any hope of making serious money. There are easier ways to make money with Adsense.
Arbitrage is not that hard and can bring good bucks if you know how to optimize ads, write keyword targeted articles that aren't spam and get low bids for the keywords you target. If you can manage to get 20% CTR on any adsense page without being MFA the rest is rinse and repeat.
This seems to be the smart way to go. Better to optimize for search engines and rankings than to use cute little tricks to draw traffic. Organic traffic is always better traffic in the long run, don't you think. It's free, too!
OK lemme get it clear. Adsense or PPC Arbitrage is no LONGER allowed by Google. Google decides what an arbitrage is. Mostly to do with how relevant your landing page and the website is with your adword or PPC campaign, and how good your website is. The quality Score of your website. if you have a 5 or above PR website, even 4, with good site structure, sitemap, Unique content and lots of it. Then Google will not ask you to close ur adwords campaign. But if you think that you can get Traffic using adwords and earn using Adsense, then you are a few months.. well a couple of years too late. I used to get some money from Travel related sites TWO years back,a nd Two years back I was smart Prices. Adword Cost is GREATER than ADSENSE earnings.. There are no more High Price adsense and Low Priced Adwords. Google's algorithm takes care of that. SO FORGET IT. Now wait before you come to a conclusion. If you have a site that talks about something that can be sold ONLINE. Then you should know that Adsense is not the only Revenue earner. You can get traffic by Adwords, but you should convert those traffic using several methods.. U can monetise at the most basic level using Chitika, Kontera, banner ads, text Links besides adsense. And run a sucessfull Affiliate Marketing. If your website is about something that converts well, maybe Gadgets, maybe Financial Products.... The Affiliate sales will be what will make money.. People don't even run adsense on my adword landing pages.. Google loves it, and it will give u a good quality score ie. for the same keyword or phrase, lower bid price.. and secondly your visitor have fewer option of leaving ur site.. ie he will only leave via ur affilaite link rather than the lower paying adsense ad. That said, this method takes a lot more ingenuity than writing a blog or making a website. This is REAL Business.. people are making hundred and thousands using affiliates.. read this http://www.superaffiliatemindset.com
Well, I'm 2 years late and still making some bucks with adwords / adsense. Of course you can make more with affiliate marketing, but that doesn't mean it won't work.
Anteros, Would you mind giving me some examples of this? Is it like using Adwords for the keyword Money, then have Adsense optimized for the keyword Mortgage? Keywords that are related, but the second is higher paying than the first. Or is it a little different? Could you give me an example/illustration of how you can make more with affiliate marketing? I apreciate your help. Luke
The "secret" is using only content network and getting 0.01 clicks for high traffic/high paying keywords. Then, the landing page must be very well optimized with only one adsense block so the ads get higher bids. In general, this should work if you get CTR higher than 10%. The drawback is, the landing pages soon get a poor quality score so you have to get new domains, new content, etc... but with a few pages you can get a few hundred bucks every month.
Thanks for the reply. Is this the method used by others, or are there other methods? Does it always work like this?
It depends on the design. For example if you use one horizontal block and one vertical block it can be beneficial in the sense of CTR but if you use 2 336x280 blocks side by side, the chance of people clicking on the right block is 50% but that ads will be in "lower" position so they will produce cheaper ads. Also, depending on the niche, less ads will be more targeted producing higher ctr.
