Troy, any idea about what keyword do you have? and is it an average or max you hits? live-cms com, any stats for traffic from s.e, and keyword?
I have a full list of all keywords that get us traffic the list is roughly 800,000 different keyphrases our highest yielding keywords actually contain our business name (and are people searching for our name rather than typing in our url; however these are filtered out and not 'counted' with my stats) most of our keywords are brand/product type keywords
What keywords / niche are you targeting? like computer site? health site? entertainment site?mobile site etc...??
znupy, what keywords are you working on? and how long is it since you are operating the site? My entertainment related site http://sms4smile.com is getting more than 300 hits nowadays.max hit for it from search engine is somewhere around 1100.
Not really targeting any specifics. Our site has a TON of content (forums). I optimize the pages and tags and such so that they're indexed well. I track which keyphrases bring in the most money, the most registrations, the most clicks, etc - and then i spend more time optimizing those landing pages computer site, health site, entertainment site, mobile site -- YES
I also feel very inspiring, that's why I keep tracking the potentional of keywords etc... I hope I will be posting my highest hits from google raning in x,xx,xxx or more...
First I was targeting 'Popular Screensavers' but I've reached the limit of that keyword's traffic (100 uniques per day >_<) so now I'm moving up to 'Free Screensavers' which has 2000 searches per day. I guess people searching for screensavers on google are 4x more likely to click ads than DP members visiting though my signature etc or the web dev demographic.
One thing about Google is they take time sending traffic. When my new site was launched I had about 2-20/day for first 5 months. Now its 50-150/day.
In my early days I begin with 10-15/day rapidly grown to about 100/month nowadays I'm getting about 200-300/day to my 1 site and nearly same on my second site.
Getting 200-300/day from google took me around 3 -5 months (BTW,after a month I use to get traffic around 100/day afterward was little difficult).
200-300 from google alone/day is a very good start. You should now filter your keywords, and analyze what keywords bring you most traffic and what position you are holding now, additionally what are the related keywords with how many searches. Once you prepare the list of high traffic keywords+ Potential keywords, concentrate on getting high position in SERP for those keywords.
"GoodNight SMS" brought me 200+ traffic for the past 1 month, and I am on almost 4th position in google SERP. I'll be preparing the list of keyword shortly, I may also consider overture data as well.
