I use geo-targeting so only US visitors see YPN ads, 90% of my traffic comes from Google or Yahoo yet, they say I have poor traffic quality.

Oh, and get this! It was a REPLY to my email about lowered income. So, if I didn't even send them an email, chances are they wouldn't have even looked.

So now, I have a ton of money locked up with Yahoo and they won't pay me for 90 days.

I was first accepted 2 weeks after their announcement of the program. I was one of only a couple thousand to be accepted within the first couple months - and then they kick me out.

So here is the email I sent them in reply:

"Ok, so you guys kick me out for what? Poor traffic quality? I receive 90% of my visitors from Google or Yahoo and I use Geo-Targeting to make sure only US visitors see your ads. I have been in your program since the very beginning. I was one of the very first publishers who was accepted to your program and you kick me out without even a warning of the problem. Since you have taken off the ad targeting, I had no control over what ads were shown on the website - that was entirely up to you. So in essence, you kicked out a loyal client who had NO control over what ads were shown.

If this is what Yahoo has come to, I feel sorry for you and I will be sure to tell everyone to go ahead and sell their Yahoo stock and get out of the YPN program before it is too late.

    Good day."

Stay AWAY from Yahoo. Be glad that they aren't in your country yet or else you would be stuck with the same BS.

Ouch. But you get the same crap with Adsense.
IMO, affiliate programs are the best way to a safe income.

Hey sorry to hear that, well that is the only way that they kick us out. Happened to me few months ego, reason given same as yours "poor traffic quality". One thing is for sure they won't fix their ad-targeting issue and they will never come out of beta.

The reason the traffic quality is poor is because all of their bloody ads are about insurance and stuff like that. Once they get OUT OF BETA, they'll get better advertisers.

My favorite ad was "Buy Gundam DVD". Showed up on every page... Anyway, received an email from them stating that the site doesn't contain the 'quality of traffic they strive to achieve at YPN. Interesting. It is good enough for two free listings within the Yahoo directory (I didn't even request it, they found the site themselves). 90% of traffic came from search engines, I guess Google and Yahoo aren't good enough for YPN? If that makes any sense at all.

i think we should stay away from both ypn and adsense rather than sit and pray that they will send us the payment at the end of the month.

We should terminate them (YPN) for poor quality ads. I'm glad I have a good affiliate program.

Sucks to be you! I was kicked out of adsense... I can't remember why!

I also got in to YPN in the first week and I'm from the UK! Needless to say I didn't use it...

Do they even have a plan for getting out of Beta? I thought Panama was supposed to be their big push forward, but things look as bleak now as they did a year ago.

Actually they did reply... I'm pretty sure it was automated though since it said something about how I was appealing LOL. It basically just repeated the 'poor traffic quality' and how I can't get back into the program. Totally scripted... definitely automated.

Yeah, also pages listed on smashingmagazine, rivistadonjuan (spanish magazine), odp/Google directory and Yahoo directory... yet, still not good enough traffic for them.
