So the weirdest thing has happened... Ive created a duplicate of one of my pages, not on a different domain just another folder. And created a secondary adsense channel for it to track views coming from an outside source (ive paid for a service to post ads for me) now the original channel, lets call it 'channel1' has consistent pricing. roughly $1 per click. However the NEW channel, channel2 with the SAME content in a different folder is making $.35 per click!? same ads, different channel, different directory... lower PPC? Im going to change everything back to the old channel to see if i can get a better read on things...
not sure how does has affected PPC, probably user's clicked on ads which are different then clicked on home page? Just a guess.
the click behaviour of your visitors is most important. if a visitor clicks of an ad directly while your page is still loading, you'll get a bad cpc. if a visitor clicks on an ad and closes the adpage or returns to your page immediately - bad cpc. my theory, dont know if this is 100% right.
This is something new for me, I have never heard about this. You got anything to support your theory?
unfortantly not, i've read about this some time ago but can't find the url anymore. as i said, it just a theory - can be wrong.
thanks for replies so far. Bananajoe : that makes sense if the load time of the ad page isnt a full impression (all images arent loaded) im sure google keeps track of these things regarding adwords users landing pages... oh well. to fix things i tried a new keyword today on one of my sites... at 25% cpm im looking at an eCPM of $289! o out with the old and in with the new
