I think I know the reason why but thought i'd get some feedback just in case. I have set up a landing page which is very simple and too the point, I want a particular group of people to give me their email address in order to provide them with offers and discounts throughout the year. My domain name is simular to the leading player in the market and my name appears on all their offline material (more so than their own) I am hoping for some organic and direct traffic but as I was late putting the site together thought adwords could provide me with a running start. I have set up two add groups around keywords that appear on my brief and simple launch page, there is also very little competition on them so set my minimum bid to the required 3p this morning i'm being asked for upto £2.50. I know that there is not a lot of content on my site and this may effect require CPC but what is their is highly relevant is this normal?
Does it have a Privacy Policy page? You might want to read this (from Cianuro) if not: http://www.redflymarketing.com/blog/fear-the-bots-for-your-quality-score-sanity/ What sort of clickthrough rate are you getting, and in what position? This wouldn't generally cause that kind of increase in minimum bid, but it's about the only other thing that'll impact your minimum bid without you changing anything...
No Privacy Policy page? and cheers for the link For one campaign it is ok 1.2% and the other is Good at 5% the converstion rate is great however with 65%, I'm getting position 1.2 for my 3-5p however on the adgroup which is ok i'm getting position 7
A 5% clickthrough rate from position 1.2 isn't bad in general (depends on the keyword, though). 1.2% from position 7 is also quite good in general. Neither figure is going to cause your minimum bid to get big, so I'd make sure your site's got all the reassuring things that give Google a warm and fuzzy feeling about you...
I think we should just combine out accounts at this stage Spot on. A CTR greater than 2% in my experience is more than enough not to effect your KWQS. At least not move it from Good to Poor. As CustardMite said, you need to focus on the content, layout and structure of your site. Make sure Google knows that you are indeed a good candidate for a good QS.
