What is the best way to drive traffic to a site. I started this site not getting alot of hits. I did some diggs but nothing really happend from that.
Start by submitting your site to directories, building links and optimizing your page are 2 very important thing you can do without spending a buck at first. Depending on what kind of site it is you could visit communities and forums and advertise your site there. If you have tried all those things maybe spending a few dollars on payed advertising to see if that helps you generate traffic... . And offcourse check around the DP forums, there's a goldmine of information on these forums! Good luck! Supreme.
Personally I think there is no better traffic then Pay Per Click Traffic. If you choose your keywords right the traffic is incredibly targeted and you catch visitors when they are usually in a "Buying Mood". The other reason I like PPC is because it forces you to be accountable for all your actions. You simply must have good conversion rates, or your bank roll takes a huge hit. If you are failing at PPC, then it tells you that your marketing sucks. I simply love PPC and don't think there is a better traffic source myself. However, you do have to be a good marketer.
Best way to have tons of targeted traffic is to rank on top of search engine for a keywords that has high searches. Here's a list of some ways that you could do to improved rankings and can also be your source of traffic. 1. Create informative and interesting content. 2. Post to forums 3. Submit your site to directories 4. Join social bookmarking sites like stumbleupon, blinklist and etc. Me too i don't get much traffic from digg but stumbleupon and blinklist give me traffic. 5. Blogging 6. Link exchange with related site's
There are no best ways to get traffic. All of the different forms of traffic building work differently for you depending on the target audience you are looking for.
Easiest way is to hire someone to seo your site for a good keyword. I know someone that will get you TOP 10 in competitive keywords for a really good price and if they don't get you in Top 10 in the SE, then they refund all your money. I am soon hiring him for seo for "Website Traffic". It will cost me many $k's but well worth it. That exact search has over 80k searches per month, so most likely with being in Top 10, I would get about 65k-75k of these visitors for that keyword.
I use three method: -Article directories submision ( write a tips, or product review) -Squidoo ( write new product review) -and Wordpress / Blogger blog ( what ever you want) I start geting traffic after 2 weeks I posts.
I agree with populartemplate, not only do you get a lot of traffic but you also increase the possibility to get returning visitors, I would also recommend adding fresh and interesting content on your web site to get visitors attention. But SEO does definitely cost abit, what's your budget? In what range is it? Thanks, Meti
start submitting to directories and getting as many backlinks as you can.Another option is social bookmaking and getting links on high pr blogs can also help
Start with good content - then ask related sites to link to yours. This obviously works best in non-profit sectors, or if you have loads of content. Local directories are a good idea as well.
