Is it good if your domain shows some sites when query "related:yoursite.com"

Hi,

I just figured that when doing related:mysite.com I see sites that offers similar content, I tried another site with the matching content but it doesn't show any similar/related site.

is it good or bad? what's your comments on this?

It's a good thing, because it means that Google understands what your site is about

 

yeah its a good thing, but I have never been able to get google to have related information for any of my sites.

 

i think it's good if the sites are related to yours.

when i search my site with related comment, all the sites unrelated to mine.

i think google is calculating with backlinks

 

It's good if it does, but like trich says, it's even better if they're actually relevant.

I have a problem with one of my sites where the related: is showing something related to the domain keyword (it's not a real keyword) but not the content. Annoying.

 

I've never gotten any useful information from the related command. The results that it returns are never relevant to my site.

I never even knew about the related search query, but I would imagine it would be good for Google to recognize what your site is about and relate it to similar content.

 

I show 26 sites related to my humor websites, most of them are related to my content and some aren't but are very interesting indeed.

 

maybe google see "SMS" as a topic

Since you checked "related:yoursite"
you may also check "related:from_these_related_sites"
it is strange
yours related to theirs but not all of theirs do relate yours
