I don't think I was clear. It doesn't work on a percentage rate at all. The advertiser decides that they will give $x.xx for each "action".
I know I would like to know how much google get pay. For example, if a dating site want to pay 5$ per new subscription. How much Google earn ? And how much the publisher earn ?
That's a good question. It should be pretty easy to figure out. Any advertiser would know how much Google charges and could easily find out how much publishers get.
I'm an advertiser and I have the answer. Is the same value for what they get per click on content and search network. They get a commission of 30% plus of the announced value (in R2). If you see a commission in Referals 2.0 of $7.69, this means that Google is getting per commission: $7.69 x 30% = $2.31 This means that the advertiser set the value per sale/reference of: $7.69 + $2.31 = $10.00 If you see of the point of view of the Advertiser, it means that Google get a share of 23.1% of the total value. This is the market standard and also CJ uses this to calculate its commissions.
thanks Micro for making that clear. I seriously love people sharing valuable info rather than posting some absolutely useless replies here. Reps given to you for that stuff! by the way, Referrals are now totally country specific and so sites with international audience now has to select referrals with lot of caution. We get so many clicks and no conversion since the referrals are no more targetted. They just randomly rotate in other countries :-(
