Keep trying to open your mouth your wide as you can and you can accidentally dislocate your jaw by forcing the ramus out of its socket in the mandible.

 

Thanks, but since I don't have normal range of motion from my injury, I doubt I'm in danger of that happening...

Thank you for proving my point. I do not have a perfectly normal jaw. I have a restricted movement jaw. Not really any danger of dislocating it because I opened my mouth too wide...
