With you headlights... .. LOL Every once in a while, driving down the road, another driver in the opposite lane of traffic will flash me with their headlights.. I usually take this to mean that there is a Police Officer coming my way or parked somewhere down the road. Which means that I should slow down. This quite often turns out to be the case and I do slow down and the cop passes on by... Hmmm is this legal.. in the USA Some other times a driver will flash me and I slow down. Farther down the road I pass a crash, tree branches, or other debris (including cows and deer) and am thankful that the other driver had flashed me.. When driving in my local town ocasionally another driver (friend) will flash me and I usally take this to mean that they want me to pull over. And I do .. And we talk. So....Do you Flash people while driving?? Have you been FLASHED? Why?
When someone in an oncoming car flashes their lights at you, it usually means that you have your brights on and you need to turn them down!
means i'm driving my volvo and they think i have my lights on in the day, when they are safety lights
Ohhh.. good one.. I totally forgot about that.. I have had this happen and flashed another driver for this reason. What's really bad is when you flash a car because of their brights being on and then they stop, turn around and pull you over with thier bright flasshy lights.. LOL Busted by the Police.. That happened to a friend of mine while I was in the back seat long ago. The cop said we shouldn't flash people, even if there lights were on bright.
Cops are assholes most the time, i know, my bro is a traffic cop and he gace me a ticket because i was speeding, to babysit his kids

In my country it is usually because you need to turn down your lights, you need to transfer on the slow lane or the car behind you wants you to pull over.
Yeah I flash. I'm out in the country a lot so people tend to be neighbourly on the roads. Plus I drive a Pug, and we all wave like idiots and flash our lights at each other just to say hello

In the United States that usually means there is a cop ahead or you have your highs on. Most cars use daytime running lights over here now, so it would be kind of weird to flash someone because they have their lights on during the day.
I heard about a woman that got busted for flashing oncoming drivers, warning them about the fuzz (police)...her defense was she thought she was SUPPOSED to flash the other drivers then a long time ago, I heard about gang initiations where the members would drive with their lights off and when other cars could flash them, they were to go after those cars
You gotta be kidding me! I'd fight it in court . For the whole flashing thing it might be important to flash your lights at other drivers because of important things like cops, crashes, or like if your lights are on too bright. The whole point of it is to get the attention of the driver so that hopefully he realizes that his lights are too high, or that something is wrong with his vehicle or that something is wrong up ahead. The only thing is that you gotta be careful because you obviously don't want to blind the driver by doing this. Skinny
flashing where im from usually means a) a cop is up ahead b) there is some sort of crash or something in the road c) they want to say hey because there someone i know
With all of those different reasons for flashing, when you get flashed how do you know the reason??? What do you do when you get flashed? Do you turn down your brights, pull over, slow down... Did you know that Jeep drivers always wave to other Jeep drivers? I love that! (And by Jeep, I mean the Jeep Wrangler - not all those other boring cars that Jeep makes... )
you need to keep a checklist of the reasons why you would be flashed and then go down the list if you are flashed...it's the only way
And by the time you have gone through the list, you are caught in the speed trap, and explaining to the cop why you were speeding with your brights on!
