It's the first time for me using this style, so im not sure about this one... Anyways, its a portfolio, so it's ment to be small like that (theres not much content) http://imagenerd.com/uploads/excellens7GpW.png
Dark, uber detailed, a bit steam-punk - it shows you're a decent hand at the tools of the trade and is an appropriate framework for the content it relates to. It reminds me of the gamer style that was popular not too long ago - still has it's place if you wondering if that style is still marketable/attractive to people. The real market today though seems to be the elusive 'web 2.0 style' - which at it's essense is generally lighter in color (often with gag-me-with-a-spoon cutesy-colors), 'super clean' (sans-massive amounts of detail) and tends to take advantage of more of the page. I personally like your layout & concept myself.
Thanks alot for the comments guys, really appreciated! I know about the web 2.0 trend these days, but i dont like following trends etc, i like doing my own thing. I know 'web 2.0' designs probably sell better, but I didn't make this design with the intention to sell it, it was actually made for a contest (totally freestyle contest, but it is on an interface-related site, so I thought creating a somewhat interface-looking design would be good... ). Again, thanks guys!
