You ready? Cause here it is. The people with the most traffic make the most money. You can't judge whether or not you have a good ctr with just 200 page views. You need quality REPEAT traffic. Would you rather have 1,000 visitors come to your site and just 10% of them come back on a monthly basis or 1,000 visitors come to your site and almost all of them come back on an almost daily basis? You could have either 1,100 visitors that month or 20k visits that month!!! Search Engine traffic is great but it isn't what is going to bring you the most traffic. Once you get people to your site you need a way to bring them back frequently. You need a viral site if you are going to get a lot of repeat traffic. Something that will spread like wildfire. A word-of-mouth/exciting to always come back kind of site. What makes your visitors come back to your site? Are they just 1-timers? If you have a content site... are you updating it at least every 2-3 days with killer content that was written by you? Do you have an arcade site? What separates it from others? Just my thoughts for today. Ty Maier P.S. You can disagree or agree. But it all comes down to traffic. And repeat traffic is the most quality traffic you can get.
Repeat traffic is alot more difficult. You have to have something a visitor wants and, often times, we just want clicks on the ads Everything else is extra. But that is true. If you are willing to invest your time in one site, its a good idea.
I thought everyone did till I saw 2 posts that said "If you get more traffic will you really get more clicks?"
It depends. Forums (usually have a lot of repeat traffic) have very low CTR. However, sites with repeat traffic have higher CTR, but its more difficult to get a lot of repeat traffic with sites unless you have a blog or forum attached to it, or its a very unique niche.
To be honest I would prefer first time traffic over regulars any day of the week. The information seekers (searchers) are the happy clickers, they'll click anything to get to where they are going.
