The U.S. could easily withdraw from Iraq, but that would leave the country in chaos, an Army war game concludes ..........Once U.S. troops left, however, the chaos in Iraq would escalate. Shiite militias would drive Baghdad's Sunni population into Iraq's western Anbar province, which is almost exclusively Sunni, the war gamers concluded. There would be a power struggle within Anbar among tribes backed by outside Sunni Arab states, including Saudi Arabia and Syria . Rival Shiite factions would fight one another to control much of the rest of the country, and Iran presumably would back one side, although the gamers couldn't assess how overt Iranian interference would be. Turkey would consider entering Iraq from the north to thwart the Kurds, who desire independence and claim some of Turkey as part of their homeland. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's government would be unable to control the country. Indeed, the gamers concluded, his government could collapse unless Iran threw its support behind it. "The mess we would leave behind would be awful," the participant said........... http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/2...nexclusive_attn_national_foreign_editors_ytop How come, that after this massive middle east disaster, that Bush and co created, they are still in power? BTW Bush wants to create another one in Europe (Kosovo) by taking land from Serbia and giving it to the separatist albanians.
The US will never fully leave... Iraq is just the beginning. We still have the rest of the Middle East to liberate...
With no smiley face or quotation marks on the word "liberate" I couldn't be sure that you're joking, but I'm sure you must be
It is impossible for Bush and Co to leave the OIL fields unsecured. So he will leave some presence in Iraq. I suspect he'll push the generals as hard as he can to show some positive results on the ground. If it works he'll give them medals for the great job. But since no person with his brains in order believes that, his escape plan is to put all the blame on the Iraqis - their politicians, their militias, Al Qaeda .....
Oh of course, because we are just sooooo benefiting from those oil wells over here... I love the positive thinking of some of the people on this forum...
"insurgents" aka "terrorists" aren't targeting oil fields and I doubt it's on their radar at all. They seek to kill anything with a lung, most especially, innocent Iraqis. Of course, some try to give their credit away to others.
I bet all people in Canadian Arm forces are shaking in their boots of the thought of a tranny attacking them but wait; you don't serve because of your "medical" excuses.
That is the plan of foreign terrorists in Iraq, isn't it? They are occupying Iraq, daily killing innocent Iraqis (though some dishonestly give their credit away to others) and they want to take over Iraq. Let's see...would I want to live under an al qaida regime or would I want to live under democracy? Hmmm...choices choices!
