    Exactly!

What bugs me is people posting threads for the sole purpose of complaining about other threads! haha

My point is that I personally get excited when I hit #1 SERP on google. And I believe that there is much more to speak and write in terms of optimization.

This makes me think that people are less fond on sharing their accomplishments and the respective techniques which they used, rather than speaking about PR all the time. Speaking about PR gives no benefit. Thats my point.

I suggest we chose and proclaim 5 people for "PR Prophets" and whenever their balls (crystal balls that is) sense Datacantre activities! They hit the threads.....lool :)

I Feel you. I myself did not see any change in any of the sites which I own. This is why I got kinda angry losing time checking all my sites one by one with pr checkers and going back and forth through the PR threads.

This is a simple poll. No one asks you to come and vote.

Basically if you are complaining from the threads which theoretically are complaining from other threads, this makes you a total Nihilist

Well I am just pointing out that there are better things to do than reading through a thread with 5000 replies and then busting your head in the monitor trying to see a single page in any of your sites which has any change in the PR.....you can e.g. read some optimization tips...or share some......you can drink a coke....or even wank off....still better than doing practically nothing.

PR updates are based on a single snapshot. Thats the point. They are not such a big event if you happen to think of it. Only if you are selling links maybe, but in all other cases its nothing special.

Every day is a PR update....so stop bitching. If you dont see it. You go down.

Everyone likes a high PR site, thus looking for a PR update.

IF PR update threads bother you, ask yourself will you be fine if your sites (No matter how many backlinks, and how old) have 0 PR....

Even i'm sick of these threads now. Should get better within a week after the update is over. I guess that'll take a lot of time at this pace.

I've started ignoring threads about PR now. We should place in bold red letters in the google section saying that "No threads regarding PR update please."

I think the mods are doing a good job of closing/merging the PR threads.
But people always try to find another way to open PR related threads, (this one for example).

The truth is, there isn't much else to talk about in the Google forum apart for the PR. I mean, it is only a search engine after all :).

I agree. I remeber there were 3 running PR threads one day. There was one that was a few days older and more pages so they merged the other two to it.

So yes mods do try and squelch multiple PR threads and merge them into one as to not make the users head swell with confusion than they already are.

The same way that no one asked you to visit all the PR threads?

    Nihilist:
    Quite a stiff assumption.

I'm sure directory owners would disagree that PR is nothing special...

So... did the PR update come yet? :)

Don't take it that seriously. So someone wants to get a few extra posts. Let them do it. It wont harm you in any way, and the Google general forum is mindless spam anyway. I only use it for the AdSense, etc subforums.

Imagine how much resources it takes to change a green bar for each single website which is in their cache?

We are talking about the world index here.......frankly I am amazed that they manage to do it once in every 3 months for a 10 day process.

No because people would post, "what PR is my site?", "Why is my site not updating?" and so on...

Ok looking at the poll this reminds me of the Howard Stern case....

People dont like him, but listen to him just to see what he says.

Here is something similar, we see the majority of people voting against PR threads, but still they go and check them from time to time.

    Pretty strange imo.

I think PR is very important for any site. I know that posting useful stuff on ur site is most important. But i think in the future, PR will play a very important role for one's site. I think this system will get rid of black hats, and only people with good content have the TOP position on the SE.

Er, if the circulating rumours are true, and its possible they are, all websites that actually care for PR will be screwed.
