it's very under-utilized, and under-estimated by many affiliate marketers. I have received e-mails in my inbox, and wanted to buy things simply because they were in my inbox. I think people should start e-mail marketing if they don't already.
Hardly under-estimated or under-utilized. Those who have good opt-in lists use them. And those that don't have email lists are not under-utilizing anything. Hard to utilize what you don't have. And then there are the spammers. Most of us don't go this route because it can be a ticket to jail.
exactly. 95% of all affiliate marketers fail. even less use e-mail opt-in lists. those who have it know the importance of it. some opt-in lists are so responsive that a guy can send out an e-mail and make 5,000$ it's pretty amazing.
Email marketing is used heavily. At least in the professional marketing arena it is. Can't speak much for the webmaster guys. I'd agree that many don't use email marketing. But then again, many don't do a lot of things successful individuals do I'm sure. Oh well.
Email marketing used to a leading marketing tool few days ago. These days its not as popular as before for reasons. Specially the spam policy taken by mail clients is playing a great role in this. But this still a great tool for marketing if used properly. For my site http://www.webcosmo.com I use email marketing to maintain the relationship with loyal visitors.
Hey all, I have also used email marketing with some success as well. But i did find that if you didnt have enough time to be able to write good quality content then that is where the problem lies. But i did find that using that technique to help with sales when I first started playing around with affiliate marketing. But these days im not really doing that much around affilaite stuff. But yeha i have to agree, if done well then email marketing is a great way to keep sales ticking over. BUt need time to put something in place that would work well. CHeers.
Here is the link to the last one I did this this week end, titled as "Free Golden Egg Laying Duck". Don't laugh please. http://webcosmo.com/emailcampaign/08122007/campaign.html
ha sorry shoulda clarified. i meant I am more inclined to buy things that are repeatedly professional marketed in my inbox, as opposed to seeing it on some website and buying it from the beginning.
I would alwayz tried to harness the potential of email marketing provided I have a targeted opt in list. But a proper powerful email designing often generates good sales.
Depends what you're selling or advertising I guess, we have a video site and we still use the email function - but not the same as mentioned above, we use ecards and send this video to a friend type module.
On the contrary, email marketing isn't under-utilized nor under-estimated. In fact, when I sold a business on SP Marketplace I must have had 20 bids on my mailing list alone.
I actually do email marketing for one of my clients and it works really well They use constantcontact.com as their provider (because I don't want to deal with shit like server crashing and the receipiants tracing back to my own servers) but it is very effective note we have over 20 thousand emails of ppl interested so that's probably why but make sure its an opt-in list and not just a list you buy (you can get into a lot of trouble for this)
If you are in the business of trying to sell consumer goods or products, then perhaps this method good work wonders as it could "entice" user to "buy". Advertising your site or trying to garner traffic to your site through such methods may prove futile.
