Well in fact no one claimed that PR will be removed. The discussion was related to showing PR on toolbar. Google wont remove PR from their algorithm however showing PR to everyone on the toolbar has nothing do with them. right? They can still continue to rank pages based on their algo. then Google can easily remove Pr from toolbar but give PR information to webmasters in Google webmaster central, maybe even live PR. So the debate is still on and only google knows the answer. I would say relax and watch!
there is no debate at all mate, read my first post I said that they dont plan to "take out the PR from the the toolbar" and they never did, Infact they are planing and looking for suggestions to add more tools in the google toolbar. cheers.
OK..not directly referring to your post but some people replied as if no PR then how will they base the algo and stuff. so just wanted to clarify. People still dont get the whole idea of PR, SERPs, Algo and its co-relation.
I am not concern about whether Google will remove PR or not, on the other hand, I am thinking if PR is still valuable for Google search based on Google's blief.
But PR has little or no impact on serp's, hasnt for a long time. Its just an indicator, a toy that keeps a lot of people talking. Where is the value in PR? There is none outside this industry.
I doubt that they would remove the pr toolbar. Instead of exporting every month they could just export it a few times a year and make it worthless. Oh yeah. They already have done that.
Internal page rank is important to an extent. However, the values exported to the Page Rank toolbar are almost worthless.
