You aren't suggesting that he is a typical amputee are you? (even though he isn't an amputee) Anyway, Back to the question of why god doesn't perform miracles on amputees when he so regularly performs them on every other person with every other kind of condition - Conditions that coincidental are the types of conditions that can cure themselves or be misdiagnosed - Is simple. He doesn't exist.
Any ideas on the reasoning behind the decision to allow innocents to suffer? You'd think an all-knowing, all-loving intelligent force would have the compassion and decency to give out a leg once in a while.
This would be a simple but interesting experiment as explained by why wont god heal amputees. It would surely answer many questions. A simple experiment, I think that all believers should try: "For this experiment, we need to find a deserving person who has had both of his legs amputated. For example, find a sincere, devout veteran of the Iraqi war, or a person who was involved in a tragic automobile accident. Now create a prayer circle like the one created for Jeanna Giese. The job of this prayer circle is simple: pray to God to restore the amputated legs of this deserving person. I do not mean to pray for a team of renowned surgeons to somehow graft the legs of a cadaver onto the soldier, nor for a team of renowned scientists to craft mechanical legs for him. Pray that God spontaneously and miraculously restores the soldier's legs overnight, in the same way that God spontaneously and miraculously cured Jeanna Giese and Marilyn Hickey's mother. If possible, get millions of people all over the planet to join the prayer circle and pray their most fervent prayers. Get millions of people praying in unison for a single miracle for this one deserving amputee. Then stand back and watch. What is going to happen? Jesus clearly says that if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. He does not say it once -- he says it many times in many ways in the Bible. And yet, even with millions of people praying, nothing will happen. No matter how many people pray. No matter how sincere those people are. No matter how much they believe. No matter how devout and deserving the recipient. Nothing will happen. The legs will not regenerate. Prayer does not restore the severed limbs of amputees. You can electronically search through all the medical journals ever written -- there is no documented case of an amputated leg being restored spontaneously. And we know that God ignores the prayers of amputees through our own observations of the world around us. If God were answering the prayers of amputees to regenerate their lost limbs, we would be seeing amputated legs growing back every day."
'God' created these people the way they are. Why would he change his mind? God doesn't make mistakes. My god doesn't anyway. pffft
Jesus showed an example of God's holy spirit by using it to heal people (Luke 22:50-51, Matthew 9:2, Mark 7:31-37). This was a foregleam of things to come (Isaiah 33:24). Jesus was not sent just to heal. He was to declare God's Kingdom that would ultimately heal all mankind's problems (Luke 4:43, Rev 11:5, Matthew 6:10, Rev 21:3-4). Col
God? He is where he has always been. In heaven. He has set all of these things up and is allowing everyone on this earth the opportunity to learn about him, to benefit from him and to learn the truth about life. There is a phrase that says "have to know that I am Jehovah" that is in the Bible 57 times. According to the prophecy that is almost fulfilled at Matthew 24:14, the good news of the Kingdom will be preached to all the inhabited Earth, for a witness to all the nations. Then the end will come". When that end comes, everyone will know that it is Jehovah that is bringing to ruin those ruining the earth, and removing the wicked ones, and all those that refuse to know him and those who refuse to accept him as the only true God, the Ancient of Days, the one who has no beginning and also has no end. The Bible clearly shows that God and his perfect wisdom, power, justice and love has not changed one bit. His purpose has not changed from the very first prophecy in Genesis 3:15 to the last in Revelation 21:4. It is up to every individual to make a choice and LIVE by that choice. Everyone gets an opportunity to listen and take action. Each individuals life will depend on that action. It does not matter what people think, say or do. God's purpose will not alter at all. It will happen. Just like many other things prophecied in the Bible happened. Because God cannot lie. Never has done, never will do. You ask where he is? He's in the same place he has always been. How patient he is. How merciful he is. How just he is. Giving all of us time to think about the decision we need to make. Why is he doing this? Read Proverbs 27:11. This whole theme of the Bible is all about this one thing. Who deserves the right to rule mankind? God, or Satan. Satan put up the challenge that man can rule himself under his guidance. God allows him the opportunity to prove his claim. Why? There are myriads of myriads of angels all watching and listening to the claim Satan is making. To wipe out Satan there and then would have proved nothing for God. So, he gives Satan the time and opportunity to prove himself. Look at what he has done for mankind. Look at the mess. But, not for much longer. God will soon step in. He's given Satan his time. Now it's going to be God's turn very soon. This is what the Bible is all about. Believe it or don't believe it. It's your own decision. I am but a messenger. Or one of millions of messengers. You can call me a liar,a fool or a crook. Call me what you want. But I am still a messenger. I can only hope that some of you will read what I have posted and find out information for yourselves. Don't join the multitude that attack and accuse that lies are being told about the Bible. Find out for yourself. Let you be the one who decides what is fact and what is not. Regards, Col
So if The Bible stories convince me, then what I've read can be considered fact? There's no further research I need to do? Is it Satan or God that creates stillborn babies? And do their souls go to heaven or hell?
That question is not the easiest to answer. However, there is an answer. Think back to the time of Adam and Eve. They were created perfect. To live forever, subdue the earth and fill it. They had a rule (the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge). Satan decieves Eve and lies to her about that rule and the consequences and also puts the idea in her head that she will become like God if she eats the fruit. Her and Adam disobey God and partake of the fruit. the rules law comes into play and they lose everlasting life and Satan to be dealt with after. Now. The losing of everlasting life is not a simple thing. They lost perfection, which meant imperfection. We know through science that imperfection passed onto through inheritance cause more imperfection. This causes all sorts of problems throughout the thousands of years mankind has come along. Hence, what we see today is very bad. Stillborns, lameness, disfigurement and the worst malfunctioning bodies we have ever seen. All resulting from this one act of disobedience. God did not create stillborn babies. However, the act of Satan, Adam and Eve resulted in this. As far as souls go. The Bible teaches the "soul" is the life force of the body. Gos gives us that life force for us to live. Once we die. We simply do not exist except in his memory. He created man. he can do it again perfectly. Hence, the resurrection hope that Jesus gave from his sacrifice. Hell is definitely not a Bible teaching. That's man's inaccurate translation of Bible verses. To have a Hell where man is tortured does not fit in with all other scripture about God's qualities. It does not make any sense at all. I can show you the scriptures that back this up if you want to know. I hope this answers your questions. Col
You lost me in the first sentence...I don't believe in Adam and Eve. Now what? Do you really believe that a stillborn child is created by the disobedience of Adam & Eve? Is that what you would you tell the mother of a stillborn child?
Well. That's your decision to believe or not believe. The question is "Why do you not believe?" Is it a case of just not believing, or something that makes you not believe? If she had asked me? I would tell the truth of what the Bible says about this. What would you tell her? Col
I just did. Take your time now. You edited your last post between me reading and replying. EDIT: and again OK. I forgot to answer your first question. I would have thought I already posted this but I shall repeat. Yes. Col
Q. Do you really believe that a stillborn child is created by the disobedience of Adam & Eve? A. Yes. OK that's really all I wanted to know. That alone says more than I even could.
