this may be a stupid question but when I get a red rep does it cancel out one of my green ones?

 

yes, any red rep you get takes points off your green total

 

Red rep is only 1 point I believe. Green rep can be multiple points. So if you get a green rep worth 10 points, and a red rep, you still have 9 positive rep points.

The amount of green rep depends on the number of posts and rep the person who is giving you the rep has.

 

thats wrong, if i gave you green you get 10 points, if i give you red, it takes 10 points off you and takes 1 point off me too.
someone with 5 blobs, gives 5 and takes 5 off when giving red, and it takes 1 off them too

 

oh really so if you give some one red rep it hurts you too?

 

if u get a red rep ur rep points decease according to the rep power of the giver

 

U r also wrong,if u (or members with full rep) give red rep to anyone then it will take only 5 points off (not 10) .

 

Yes but not much. Only one point, the more rep you have, the more negatives it gives.
