Does anyone have a current list of all of the authority directories out there? I'd like to take this time to go ahead and make sure that I am listed in all of the ones I can get listed in. Thanks.
See Best Internet Blog Authority Web Sites And soon to be very near already is DKessaris www.2yi.net. Dirsensei has 2 points missing so may be next year.
The criteria of becoming one. But if Google goes with Relevant Quality Links and ignores the other criteria MAYBE just MAYBE it gets in. But I doubt it since it is not yet a year old. @mystikmedia It does not Chris just checked on it. But main site is and if it gets qualified the directory would be listed underneath the main url.
I'll take a look at it. Thanks Can you list all of the criteria? Some of us may close as well, this information may just help us get over the hump .
Just keep on building your site. I have seen across many popular and heavy sites here in DP and the most near is DKessaris and Romow. All the best.
Check out the list of all the Authority Web Directories here.... http://www.autho-rity.com/Internet/Web_Directories/
ask google and you will know , of course google decides it, if they think your site deserves to be an authority site
when you search on google for specific terms, some sites come up with some sub-listings. these are very famous sites, like digitalpoint etc, has sub-listings on search results!! These are called authority sites! A few months back a lot of good directory got the authority status!
Correct me if I am wrong but I understood that this is about other pages on the same site that might be relevent to the term being searched. Can this Authority status not be achieved by buiding deep links for the same key words?
Confirm you only get these results for certain key words. If this is correct then the sites are not really authority sites at all. Should we not be talking about Authority Pages or Very Popular Pages, VPP's or maybe Pop Pages.
i don't think so! only the huge websites have this authority status! and also the sub-listings don't come up on every search. there are specific keywords that you need to search for those big sites, and then you will see the sub-listings! I have tried everything to search for my website, "friends cyber club" but no sub-listings came up! only the bigger sites enjoys this feature! I guess when google thinks that a perticular site is the best in it's niche for that perticular keyword, it gives that site an authority status!!
Who decided that sub-links conveys that value added Authority status? "Big" I can understand but things get a little blurred in the shift from Big to Quality and then there is a paradigm shift to get to Authority status. I suspect that this is wishful thinking more than anything else. I have always understood that Dmoz was recognised by Google as an Authority site and that a link from Dmoz is very very good for search results. Does it follow that because some sites show up with sub-links for one or two key words that they rank along side Dmoz in terms of the search results I am looking for? I think not. They are from different sides of town and the alliance between Dmoz and Google goes back to the days when folk used to talk communities, ethics and all sorts of impractical stuff. Times have changed but I cant see Google opening its doors to all comers and in particular to fast talking sales types that every sensible person comes to hate sooner or later.
Hello guys ---please welcome me back after nealy 4 days in forced Internet hibernation My ISP crashed. Hey old maan --thanks for referring my list. @workshop You are partly right and partly wrong. While your analysis is correct that some sites show site-links only for some words -- there are many sites who show those all important sitelinks with anything you type in. Please follow my list and check this URL-- www.walesdirectory.co.uk Please check it with -- the word " Wales Directory " --URLs www.walesdirectory.co.uk and walesdirectory.co.uk. It will show those sitelinks for all of them. On the other hand --please check some other authority sites on the list-they are not like this. They show sitelinks only for one word/phrase. As anything with Google algo - this too is not possible to decipher. But I am keeping up my study. And it seems - I can have a rough GUESS of what it is as we do some guess work while we build PR for our sites. Still everything is mystery.
In most certain cases No. of Backlinks is irrelevant as there are sites with less amount and also PR factor as there are some below PR5 that are Authority. SERP and Traffic also irrelevant.
