i guess anything higher than 5-ish% is ok..10% is great.. I have some pages that regularly have a CTR in excess of 15%-20% but they only make pennies per click.. I have other pages with a CTR in the 0.5% range, but get several $$ per click... I'll take high ePC and low CTR over over high CTR and low ePC (almost) any day..
this is not true at all... Like I already posted, you can have a low CTR, but if the ePC (earnings per CLICK) is high, then you can have good earnings with low CTR.. also, high CTR with low conversions for the advertisers may result in smart-pricing which means lower CTR.. of course you could have a $1,000,000 ePC but if your CTR is 0, it wont matter.
I publish 50,000 Adsense Impressions and 1500 to 2000 clicks everyday, these are my expereinces about CTR. There is no standard set by Google for an ideal CTR. I have 1 site which has almost same ad placemnets like other but both target different ages of audiences. CTR on the web site which is for youngesters and offering FREE downloads is more higher than the other site, Other site has visitors who are mature enough and looking for Mortgages or Guides to buy best deals. According to my expereince, People over age of 35 are calm and very carefull about where to click and where not, while youngesters are not bothered.
This still means that if you get a higher CTR you will get more money. Whether your ePC is 0.1$ or 10000$. You are right only if the ePC is 0... - William
On what basis you got $250? where are the impressions? Terabite was mentioning about eCPM not CPC, since you can't really judge on CPC. eCPM is the key, the more cpm you have the more earning. for 5% CTR you can get $50 cpm and even 10% CTR can give you $50 cpm. Here CPM is important, CTR is secondary.
Simple calculation Earning = Clicks * CTR CTR is not in our hand Clicks We can increase by increasing Impressions. So If you increase CTR or Impressions Your Earning will go up.
well not true! my ctr was around 1% and I was making good earnings... when it went up to 3%, the earnings decreased! don't ask why!
