When you go into your reports... The "Revenue" column - is that how much you earned, or the total cost of what you sold?
It could even take a couple of days before revenue could show up. For ex: if a user clicks your link on Aug 1 but does make a purchase, but then a week later he makes a purchase or wins the auction, i think you get revenue on the day click was received.
Yeah - that's exactly what happened. I'm just surprised at the revenue. Either someone bought something big, or several people won auctions and it added up quickly.
if a visitor that's eaten your AA cookie signs up for an eBay account you get something like $25.. maybe you got lucky (a few times?) ..
That's what I thought, but no new user is indicated. We'll see how things go moving forward, but from what I gather my community is pretty active on e-bay anyways, so it could just be good timing. I've been running the ads for 5 days so far. Only one day has posted revenue (the third day), but the revenue is close to $30 on 18 clicks. The CTR is abysmal, but at the same time, page views are up and that could be because people were refreshing pages to see new ads. If it continues, I'll work on maximizing the revenue. I received a lot of feedback surrounding what keywords the visitors are interested in - it's good to get buy in from the existing community - especially on an area of the site that didn't have ads previously.
the stats delay is why i don't bother checking stats everyday. just do it end of the week for me and gather up the info then. i've had issues with multiple auctionads running on a page where it just slooooows it down. cutting it down to 1 makes it faste.r
I'm I-Framing the ads, which gets the page to display first and the ads flash on afterwards. I just started rotating commission junction ads along with it - seems to work out pretty well. Strangely, the effect doesn't work in IE, so I'm considering pulling AA out for IE people or caching the ads locally somehow.
I check last weeks stats several times through monday & tuesday. Twice now I've earned money "last week" that I'd not have noticed otherwise.
