Starting an ad network

    Hi everyone.

Well, I got some nice ideas that I believe don't exist in the current market and I decided to start an ad network.

My questions are many, so here are a few of them:

    • I'm from outside USA, how should I deal with advertisers and publishers?
    • How should I protect the intellectual property of my ideas?
    • Is paypal/CC processing enough to start accepting payments? Or should I consider getting a bank account? As I said before, I'm outside the states.

I expect to make big bucks from this but I fear that some big company copies my idea.

For preventing other's to steal your Idea, get it patented in U.S. and your country.

I wouldn't worry too much about protecting your idea unless you're geared up and ready to take legal action. Instead I would model the business in trade secrets, so that it it would be hard for a competitor to move in on your space. For example Google does not reveal exactly how its search engine algorithm works.

If some big company is actually comes down to take your idea then you've already become popular enough to win the battle of money fortune. Besides, your idea will still not be gone. You can still use it:).

If I were you then I would just use the paypal as you have no other choice. If you do get lucky enough get a huge salary then take your first chance to move to us to be able to offer the rest of the ways of cash transitions. I heard Miami was nice:)

It costs close the 1/2 a million to get an official patent and if you do all they have to do is make a tiny variation and it's theirs.

Well I guess that at least if the idea is good, someone will notice that and contact me for future projects =)

Now I have to work on the tech side, but that's just programming.

Paypal is not limited to US only, I think you should check with paypal, they might be supporting your country or you may even look for other alternatives.

You are talking out of your ass. You can get a patent for less thank 50k including lawyer fees.

I already use Paypal, but I don't know how "most" of the advertisers and publishers deal with ad networks.

That's more rational, still high but if a business is doing well it's something you must do right?
