Why do they always put emphasis on Jesus instead of God?

Is there even a such thing as a church that's not interested in your money?

There are plenty of them. The philosophy is "if you want to give, give, if not don't, God will provide". That's the kind of church I go to, my pastor has no idea how much I give or don't give.

Let me know if you need help finding one.

I said not interested in your money. Not "how much" you give.

If God were even capable of "providing" anything you wouldn't need to give.

I say you test it. Everyone stop giving and see how long it takes god to write a cheque for the heating, The public liability insurance or the electricity.

He created everything, he doesn't need money from anyone. The purpose of giving is primarily to keep your heart right about the money and about your relationship with God. You can't use money as an excuse for not having the right relationship with God.

Whatever you need o tell yourself friend :)

I can't hate on the church leaders though. If I could figure out a way to get people to just give me money and make them actually feel good about it as if it were helping them was helping them I can't say I wouldn't do the same :D

lol, "keep your heart right" by giving me cash!

Sheesh, if you guys could just make up one excuse for taking people's money whether that be God or for personal reasons it would be really appreciated and make it a lot easier to make fun of you. Thanks. :D

Although Christian theology, in my reading of it, makes no provision for living in the "real world," I wouldn't hold preachers to any higher standard than anyone else. Money is a medium for exchanged value. If people find value in the work done by preachers or the work of a given church, then they give money to support it. Who cares?

He provided everything, we just don't want to use it.
Paper money is banned in the Bible, he gave us gold and silver for that.
The only purpose donations serve is paying preacher's mortgage and sending his kids through college

    Funny.

    Funnier.

Yes. But those that are not interested in your money are still very interested in claiming you for their own and ending your ability to think with any clarity.

"God" likes money more then any character I've ever heard of. Except maybe for Scrooge McDuck; he really, really loves money.

    Funniest.

You actually touch on a "real world" aspect of Christian theology. The second half of your post is very close to what is said in 1 Timothy 5:18:

Yes, of course. And also some Christian websites like mine that ask for no money. In fact, there's no way to give money to it.
