Hello everyone, I am new to developing and marketing sites, mostly i just start a site and sell it, i am trying to refain from doing this with my current blog. Anyways the main goal of the site is allow students mostly a way to stay ahead of the school filters with poating one or two proxies a day this way students are always ahead of the filters. We expected to be black listed so we made it so students can text message and recieve proxy of the day. I am wundering how would you go about marketing and avertising the site. www.mydailyproxy.com Also please don't just say myspace, if you MUST use myspace say how you'd use myspace. Thanks - John
i am just wundering what you ment by "buy friends" if you could please explain that. Also i have started some basic myspace stuff, just still looking for ideas. I also don't know weather proxy topsites will work because so far none of these proxies are mine.... - John
Invite friends and use their bulletin option to promote your site without looking it spam, facebook could be another good option that you may wish to look for.
Compleatly forgot about face book haha yet i make a post about it almost daily haha. Sad. Thanks ill start face book account to. Slowly adding friends 2 a myspace account nearing 30 + for around a hours work and all. Just wish i could speed it up haha. Any other ways, maybe something out side of the internet?
Excellent idea, I've been wanting to do it myself for some time but it's too resource intensive. Could be a good business strategy if you promote each site a bit and then sell it for a profit. For marketing: do it offline! Then it can't be filtered out by anyone... The word would spread in no time. I recommend email subscriptions too, as well as text message subscriptions. Many dedicated subscribers could simply add your email to their contacts so it doesn't get spamblocked. You could make the text message subscription so that they get charged a little for each text, and you can make a bit of profit on each text message sent also (something like what sms.ac do - the con artists!). I have contacts who can get cheap ads and 'journalist-written' endorsements from most newspapers. Good luck btw john, why does the site's whois record say it's registered to a sonja?
Haha, that is because i am 15. Legally it has to be in my mothers name. Haha, weird i know. It's not normal you see alot of teenagers doing this set up. Anyways yea, i am working on designing some flyers now, which will be placed online for users who want to help spread the word ect. Most of the sites aren't mine but that may change and in order to control the site a bit more i well list a few of mine but my main goal is to make as many people happy as possable. Web Developers get there site listed and end users get their unblocked proxy it pulls more users to the site and helps to bring them back. I have around 4 high schools 2 in az and 2 in wa that know about it and words spreading semi quickly about it. So it well be intersting to see how this develops. Newsletters work the best for proxy related sites. You can find several spots available for sell on DP. Myspace doesn't work too well for me, but if you have to, make sure you do it at a "prime time" say like early Friday night. People are on seeing what everyone is doing, everyone is checking out bulletins to see what someone might be doing. I know I got my proxy sent out middle of the day on Monday to 13,000. I only received 23 hits.
Expected. The whole goal of the site is to allow users to cheak the proxy of the day before school normally i list it at 10 pm pst. So it gives users time to jump on before school. If they don't have access to the site is where the text message feature comes in. I honestly don't know one teenager who doesnt have a cell phone or at least has friend who u can borrow for 2 mins. These proxy list sites are the first point of reference for filter updating people and robots to check for the latest proxy sites that need filtering. The trick to maintaining an unfiltered proxy is in staying underground so that users can find it but not filtering teams... some systems get auto updates so even a new proxy every day won't work when u got filter teams checking ur site for new proxies to filter out. as an anti-bug / anti-spy trick you could message each subscriber with different new proxies, and the ones which get banned quickly are the ones that were given to the spy subscribers. this trick will only work if you stick to paid text message subscriptions and avoid listing the proxies on ur website
haha yea i thought about that. i may just have 2 think of a few ways to get around teams like that. =/ ill think about it over the next few hours and see if i can come up with a few ideas a very vaild point there. just need to fix my computer from the linux mess up i had happen here. cant get it into gui mode at all. its centos 5.0 so any help is welcomed =/

Dopiitv, i well be pming you with in the next few days, starting to try and get a small member base going in myspace i hope to have near atleast 100 manually added friends, this way i can start jump starting the site. Than ill talk to you about face book. Thanks again any other suggestions? I am open to anything real world, cyber space ect!
