I have been trying for monthes and monthes to get listed in DMOZ, but NO such luck. Is there anyone out there who can help me get listed in DMOZ? Other people I know are having the same problem. What's the deal?

    You don't. :(

I haven't been successfully listed in years. And these are legitimate websites mind you. I a previous venture, a competitor of mine was the volunteer editor and that did not help my case.

No one can tell you how YOU can get listed, but if you share your site, we can tell you what may help... though posting your site here at DP is likely a counter-productive method. They don't like us here :D

If you find a nice mod they will always get you listed i send the chat i know what i like and he lists them straight away.

I asked him why he's always does mine but other people have no luck and his simple answer was that pure politeness and the fact that i never "expected" to get in just because i emailed him.

Think the trick is to find the mod ahead of you category or above and ask nicely explaining that you have submitted a couple of times and no luck yet.

Worked for me just got to hope you find a good one :D

DMOZ was built from the ground up without such things, so it didn't go anywhere...it was never there from the very start.

I've been waiting for months aswell and so far none of my website have made it onto dmoz. I don't really mind that much that i'm not on it, people say it isn't as good as it seems.

Customer Service does not suck at DMOZ though. It sucking is simply impossible...they would need to have Customer Service before it could suck.

Easiest way is to buy a site already listed.

You don't have (or I didn't see) a privacy policy, a telephone number, an address. They are very picky about that kind of stuff. If you don't want to give out your telephone address bury it in the T&C of the web site or even in the Privacy Policy itself.

My site was actually listed on DMOZ before we even finished it.
