Can you track keywords without having a landing page?

If you send traffic directly to the offer? If you give your AM your script code? I tried that with Yahoo conversions and it's not working. I need to be able to track which keywords are converting to sales. Not just which keyword was used to get to the site.

    Thanks

In Google you could send each keyword to a different url and add 2000 at a time, with yahoo you can only do it 1 by 1 though :/

yes use subids or redirects. and Yahoo you can do this in bulk but you have to be spending a decent amount with them to get bumped up to level where they let you import Export via Excel etc..

Some affiliates have Adsense, MSN, Yahoo integration. You just provide them with conversion code.

conversion code not working, YSM and azoogle both say everything is working on their end. Azoogle won't provide the url or source code to the "thank you" page to troubleshoot.

A couple people stated that after the Panama update you can only have 1 conversion code on the page. so if another affiliate has their code on the page, it's not going to work.

How many keywords do you have? if less than 100 just do it manually with sub ids

    He said 10k keywords.

Why don't you just send the users to a landing page first and use a tracking script?

You'll get better conversions and save yourself a lot of time.

That's what I'm working on, but I'd like to be able to test my offers before I get landing pages created since I only have basic html skills, and not a good writer I have to pay get this stuff done. I don't want to end up spending this money if my offer is going to do well.

I hear you. Depending on how much it will cost you it may or not be worth it though.

Let me give you an example.

I was testing one offer with direct linking and it converted at 1 in 50. At 5 cents a click it was still worth it but if it was a higher competitive niche I'm not sure it work out so well.

Made an LP for it and for this month it's running at 5%+ conversion rate and that's with testing different traffic that wasn't converting so it's probably more like 10%+ on the traffic I'm running now.

Anyhow, an article will cost you like 5 bucks and for an LP use an e-mail creative if they have one and you don't want to spend money on a landing page.

Also remember your QS might suck with direct linking.

Yeah, I've read everywhere about how much more landing pages convert rather than direct linking. Hopefully after I start these landing pages I'll see an increase in conversions. I didn't think about using e-mail creatives as landing pages or heard about that, sounds like a really good idea.

Since I'm still new I'm not sure if a niche will be too saturated, or if I'll have good keywords or not, so I'd like to find out if it would be successful before hand, but if I can't well then I don't have any choice. I've tried so many ways to be able to track conversions without a landing page and haven't been successful so I got keyword radar and have some landing pages to start next week.

I'm only advertising with Yahoo, and want to start with Google as well, but I don't think they allow direct linking anymore (if display url is different) so I'd have to get landing pages anyway. If I have a successful campaign on Yahoo I'd like to promote on Google as well.

I guess I can just test the campaign initially without tracking keywords, with low PPC bids, and if I see any kind of good response, get a landing page created and then start working on keyword conversions and increasing investments from there.

    Thanks
