What happens when some high profile member dies on DP?

When we think about the future we think about alot of crazy things.
For some reason I was thinking:

If someone with great posts, and contribution to DP community died.
What would we do? What will happen to his account.
Will the mods ban it? Or Maybe have a R.I.P beside it?
Will there be a forum called DP Graveyard?

We are all going to die one day, just wondering how we will be remembered on DP? :)

First thing you will notice is that there will be no new posts.

His "knowledge" however will stay forever (until DP DB exists).

Well you cannot presume that someone is dead just cuz he stopped posting.
But this is also the problem, 99% of the people in DP don't know each other personally. So that means that when you are dead, I don't think anyone will know...

Actually,it will be hard to find if a member really died or just left the internet.

edited: posted at the same time

maybe we should exchange phone numbers so this doesn't happen. we all get one number and we have to call them monthly to see if they are alive still.

Well ya you will have to exchange land line numbers, because if you exhange mobile numbers then you will not get any use of it. Because when your dead, you won't be able to recharge your phone. :D

we could make the rule if you miss 5 calls in a row then you are dead. that would give enough time for someone to get a charger if they still lived but lost theirs.

You mean in a row.. as in keep calling for 5 days?
What if this person changed his mobile number?
Or didn't have enough money to pay the mobile bills, or internet bills.
So that means your plan is not 100% yet.. Keep trying. :)

we could space the calls out. if the person you call doesn't answer, wait three days and call again. this will continue for 5 missed calls. that's 15 days, if we make the calls monthly on the 15th this would give them enough time to pay their bill.

if they change numbers it is their responsibility to call the person who calls them and inform.

i, and most american cell phone owners, have free long-distance. we'll have to make sure the Euros all get Euro numbers, and USA sticks to themselves.

    ::edit::

I passed 500 posts on this thread.

Maybe we can use skype for this, or have like a msn list of the members your suppose to check on. I think people are cheap, and they won't call to check on anyone. :D

If a few members of the DP P&R "crazy gang" didn't make X amounts of posts per day offerin up plenty o "Bush and Republican Lovin" then there should be some alarm bells ringing.

But seriously KingofKings it is an interesting thought. I guess they would just be remembered as great active DP members and their account laid to rest (so to speak.)
