I dont know about any programming language use to build a website. Is it possible to build a website just using software that gives a ready to use tools in building website. Or I really need to learn those programming languages or a basic knowledge will do? TIA

If you have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, you can build a website using just Notepad. Or you can use free programs such as NVU to create webpages and then upload your finished site to your server. In addition, most hosting companies provide free website builders if you use their services.

You can use an editor such as the one offered by coffeecup.com. They offer a 30 day free trial of their html editor.

But, you don't need to learn a programming language. HTML, and CSS, you should learn. They are not actually programming languages. You already have everything you need tool-wise on your computer.

If HTML and CSS take to long to learn, then I would in that case pay someone to make a site for me.

Try Joomla, it's free and you will be amazed what it can achieve. Also you won't need any programming skills.

DO NOT USE FRONTPAGE AT ALL!!!!!! WOW I CANT BELIEVE SOMEBODY RECOMMENDED THAT CRAP!!

And Joomla is great, but you do need to know at least some HTML and PHP to properly work your way through the HTML editor on the CMS

Dreamweaver is the ultimate, hands down, no holds bared, best damn FTP client, HTML editor ever!!!!

I would not recommend Joomla, because I think it has some serious flaws. Get dreamweaver. There's a 30 day trial on the adobe site.

If you want to run a site you basically have to know html at the bare minimum because problems are going to pop up. Just because you make the website look right in dreamweaver does not mean that it'll look right in firefox 1.5, firefox 2.0, IE6, and IE7. That's when you'll need to know some css and html to clean it up.

You can always pay someone for basic html and css, but it seems like a waste to do that considering that html is very easy to learn once you get into it.

DreamWeaver is undoubtedly the king of HTML design! FrontPage is strictly no-no...

i think it depend on your need and what do you want for the website.

if you want to seriously learn to make website choose dreamweaver, it's very powerful.
but if you just want to try to make a simple website you can use frontpage. just type and put image like you use microsoft word :D

If you have no knowledge at all about it then i'd go for a WISIWIG generator, such as dreamweaver or nvu. If you want to learn, get notepad2
