    thanks for your 2 cents. you just forgot that its directories that help websites get in the top 10 of the Serps, so the "regular joe" find a website to "click on".

    I doubt he will get pr8, google is getting better with detecting paid links. He could get pr8 with this technique one year ago, but not now.

    And "Launch your site with a bang" is good only if he can sustain the link gathering, otherwise it will be just unnatural and the site could get penalized.

    I'm not sure in terms of PR, but in terms of SE traffic, mass links in a short period will kill your rankings, specially if the site/domain is new.

    I don't at all expect a PR 8 or 9. A PR 7 would be great but will most likely have to wait till next update. Sure a PR 8 is possible in 3 months, as I do plan on continuing the promotion, but you have to realize its not easy to go from a 4 to an 8 within 4 months.

    itd not easy to go to an 8 at all. last time i looked myspace.com had an 8. and thats naturally due to millions of users. now think how hard it would be to get pr8 by paying. near impossible. you would need about 30-50 related pr7 links

    PR is as stupid as anything

    I bet Google will not allow any of the top directories to go PR8 or above. as it would have a lot of implications on their algorithim.

    each level on the PR ladder is harder to reach. purely because you need shit loads of lower PR links, or lots of related quality high PR links.

    Since there are no PR12 links, the only way a site can go PR10 is with a shed load of high PR links...

    Actually, I think PR 8 is a long way off. When you remove "randomimage.us" from the backlink results at Yahoo you get 109 backlinks in total.

    It's going to take a good bit more than that to achieve high PR, IMHO.

    PR is not about quantity of links. 1 PR8 link would bring PR6. 1 million PR0 links would not.

    Ok back here at work. Any suggestions for paid directories I can add http://Totalposters.com to? I took care of most of the larger bid directories, and added to about a dozen high pr semi-related topic sites. Just need to start looking at the paid directories now.

    A suggestion

    Can you remove or replace the slogan

    "Money making bidding directory"

    &

    "buy a link"

    I am keen on a few submissions to your directory but those slogans do tend to make a bidding directory , look like something other than a directory

    The SE's, rightly, are looking for such markers to identify places they don't like
