Some people find it amusing when they break into places they are not allowed to be in - and that might include your DP account. Also, I would suggest you use Mozilla and set the preferences to clear all the cookies, saved passwords, histories etc every time you close it. You can also use this link to query the IP But personally I don't think this is effective since most of the guys doesn't have static or permanent IP. The best defense, change your password often.
Thanks for your advice.i always use Mozilla to access my account.I make sure who tried to login my account just now.cuz i was online. I checked the ip.it comes from USA.i think It would be easy to find out who did this if the admin can help me check.
It seems stupid and obvious, and maybe totally coincidental, but has anyone checked to see if there's any connection with this psycho? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=429764
Yeah, I'd send a PM to the administrator, they should be able to identify it with another user should they be registered and aren't using a proxy/any other computer different from their normal DP one.
I think this is a hint. If you have 'password' or 'wacko' as you password...change it now!!! If you're username starts with a bee, it looks like you might bee next!!!!
i already reported them and the post about hacking. i dont think that kid can hack his way out of a wet paper bag
Honestly there's nothing you can do other than making sure that your password is unguessable. You can always ask a mod to check if any registered members share the IP posted in the e-mail.
im having the exact same problem Your account on Digital Point Forums has been locked because someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes. The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 74.53.243.34 its getting silly now. I would suggest maybe posting anyone you did a transaction with JUST as this started to happen, to see if we can go on a witch hunt to track the user down !
I have got this mail 2 times today. Is some one trying to hack in to my account. How should I stop this.
Some people are just too obsessed with stuff....damn!!! Not even leave the forums username Did mods ban this IP yet?
But I just read above, its a proxy...sad! Anyway...it seemed he was a n00b trying to guess passwords random. But seriously....doesnt he/she has a life?
Yeah, maybe just a noob...but what if they actually got some accounts...ones that aren't being used today? Think of the havoc someone could wreak with three or four phished accounts that have decent iTrader in B/S/T. No, I think this could be serious. We're only hearing from the victims of unsuccessful attempts. The real victims could right now have their accounts posting wanted-to-trade posts about e-gold and moneybookers, even as we type...
