How many of you guys are making a living on adsense or other advertisements so having money got from website as the one and only source of income. I wonder if that is possible and how much work do you still have to put in that website in order to earn that money.

    Yes.

It's a lot of time and work to get to that point, but not so much to maintain it afterwards.

If your question is, is it possible, is it real, is it something than can be realistically achieved? The answer is yes. But is it quick, is it easy, can it work for any web site? The answer is no. Most people who try will give up before it has had time to work.

For me, my websites are just a hobby and money from adsense is extra bonus. I have a full time job. So I don't really get time to spend on my sites, though I would love to.

A friend of mine is trying to establish an income from adsense, however, it doesn't seem easy because somewhere along the line, there are difficulties thrown into the picture. For example, a Google indexing algorithmn change, or a joint venture partner suggests a new project for him and he is diverted from the main objective of the current project. On the whole, better to do something more like affiliate marketing that is more sustainable , or selling in ebay.

In short, adsense can become a component of online income, but it's not my main income source.

my website earns enough that i could quit my daytime job if I wanted to.. but it's not all from Adsense.. I think it's smart to diversify so i have multiple income streams (Adsense, YPN, Donations/subscriptions, Kontera, AuctionAds, and more!) ..

Although I'm getting enough money from adsense, I can't relay their income only. I am perferming link sales, article writing, and forum posting for my livelihood.

I make a few hundred dollars every month from my websites so it is not full-time income but rather residual income that I invest for my retirement. I only work on the sites a few hours every week so I guess if I made it a full time job it could pay better. But I already have a full time job that I enjoy and pays well so I really only do the web work for fun.

I want to make a living on the Internet, and I'm hoping Adsense will play a decent role in that goal, but so far I make much more money elsewhere. Maybe I'll figure it out one of these days...

Ad Sense for me pays probably $50 per month so I only get paid every two months. That being said, however, I just started at the end of June. Since then I have averaged more per day. For me it's more of a traffic issue that an issue of CTR. Eventually I am hoping to get into an entirely different genre. The one I'm thinking would probably hold more visitors, but for now I'm just strapped for cash and have literally no time to develop it. When things pick up around here... with a new job coming up here soon, I'll be able to work at the new sites and my current site will probably be mostly residual traffic. Until then, I want to promote what I've got because I think it's solid although it's not everyone's favorite genre.

    One day.
