    Hi All,

    Please drop your suggestions and feedbacks on below issue.

    I have an website (dummy name - www.abc.com) whose homepage is redirecting to some other page (with 302 redirection)
    http://www.abc.com ----> to -----> http://www.abc.com/redirection.cfm

    i have stopped the 302 redirection from domain (http://www.abc.com) to other page (http://www.abc.com/redirection.cfm) and put a direct link to homepage (http://www.abc.com) from all accross my website. it got indexed perfectly and google/yahoo/msn results are reflecting it too.

    I have also removed the link of http://www.abc.com/redirection.cfm page from website, and in place of this page a "default.cfm" page has been created. but for the external purpose "http://www.abc.com/redirection.cfm" url has been put on 302 redirection towards http://www.abc.com so, the visitors should reach to website not on page not found.

    but, in last few days. due to relative linking various search engines have indexed the "default.cfm" page. Its impact is that the earlier url is re-indexed by Google "http://www.abc.com/redirection.cfm". This result in ranking drop. :(

    Kindly give ur feedbacks what could be its reason why it showing so? and what can be the best optimum solution to overcome this problem

    Thanks in Advance,
    Webmaster
