What kind of narrow-minded pathetic person thinks that only muslims rape? How stupid can you be? How old are you?

Of course atheists, christians and jews and hindus and sikhs never ever rape do they, what preposterous thinking you have, they do not do it due to their religious beliefs, they're religious beliefs are against this, they are just evil people.

How can you ever say that RELIGION drove somebody to RAPE??? Maybe you need to grow up and get a brain.

its very disgusting that this thread became a reason for people to quarrel in the name of religion.. Each and every human mind is dirty here.. for a man to do an action atleast five causes are there [the way he was brought up, his economic potential, circumstances at that time he is doing crime, his lack of education or wisdom, and more importantly his power of tolerance].

Any good person can do the highest sin, if he is influenced by the above said circumstances. In india, lack of sex education in schools is an important factor for the increasing sex crimes. In this modern world media adds fuel to the youths' burning sexual desires.

The rapist should be stoned to death. This is what Islam says on this issue:

"When a woman went out in the time of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) for prayer, a man attacked her and overpowered (raped) her. She shouted and he went off, and when a man came by, she said: That (man) did such and such to me. And when a company of the Emigrants came by, she said: That man did such and such to me. They went and seized the man whom they thought had had intercourse with her and brought him to her.

She said: Yes, this is he. Then they brought him to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him). When he (the Prophet) was about to pass sentence, the man who (actually) had assaulted her stood up and said: Apostle of Allah, I am the man who did it to her.

He (the Prophet) said to the woman: Go away, for Allah has forgiven you. And about the man who had intercourse with her, he said: Stone him to death.

He also said: He has repented to such an extent that if the people of Medina had repented similarly, it would have been accepted from them. (Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 38, Number 4366)"

If that happened in Saudi Arabia, they would be of been dead by now.

    That's a lie.
Usually women are the ones that get punished for getting raped in muslim countries. Nice try.

Oh how we are very quick to judge...

The words "God has forgiven you" mean that she's not the one to blame.

As the saying goes "Guilty until proven innocent".

    No, to forgive is:

In other words, to be forgiven for being raped is to say that though you did wrong by being raped, you are "excused for a fault or an offense."

The word you might be looking for, at least from my sense of morality, sense of civilization, is that the woman raped would be "blameless," wouldn't she?

Technology has gone far but our minds are starting to fail. No offense though, just trying to make sense over the internet is not always possible. The meaning behind those words cannot be understood just by reading one or two quotes, you would need to understand what is the core beliefs of Islam before understanding such crucial issues. I think I am the one to blame for posting such an article on a premature board. Sorry. Again, no offense.

    M5love,

I do understand that translations of words can be troublesome, at best. I remain troubled by the connotations behind the concept, as I have seen instances of such understanding in far too many occasions.

One can only hope that is the case. I look forward to how the "translation" addresses that.

Well According to Sharia Law, A woman needs to present 4 Male witnesses to prove the rape. Otherwise she would face the charges of adultery.

This seems to be a factual question, so there isn't any expertise involved - it's true or it isn't.

Is he right, or wrong? In order to prove rape, does a woman need 4 male witnesses, and in the absence of this, is she considered an adulterer?
