On validator.w3.org we can validate the pages

Does it somehow relate to SEO? Do you have an evidence to prove that the search engines take this nto consideration?

I dont believe that it takes it into consideration specificly..but just think about it, if your page does not validate, then things not be functioning like they should be. There might be an open tag or so on. Even though it looks fine to the viewer, it might look not so great to the search spider, thus not getting all your information as accurate as possible..

my suggestion is to stay as valid as possible to avoid that. but i would say directly, its probably not a consideration becaus eive seen horrible website that dont validate in a good position.

but indirectly, by the search spider not being able to interperate a tag because it was broken might be a scenario.

There is no direct proof that w3.org validation and SEO are linked. But, if the pages are validated, it will improve the look and feel of the site, thus getting more links!
Do you guys agree with me?

I don't think having a validated page helps....but having a badly coded one can hurt

I don't think that it effects search engine ranking, but it should do. Good coding should be rewarding by the se's

Google.com itself cannot be validated. :p

But, having pages crawler friendly has something to do with SEO.

Aside from having a cleaner coded page and it being easier to index, there is no difference (or link).

Check your pages in firefox and Internet explorer and if they work ok then do not worry too much about validation.

You can make a new page with dreamweaver or frontpage and immediately it will not validate through W3C

It's a big scam to get you to link to W3C lol

    Tariel,

Having a clean, well structured website can help your rankings. Is it critical? In all honesty, no. But, as scripting languages and HTML, CSS and the like have evolved into what they are today it has been common practice to make the web better through content and code separation. Will it help you get ranked higher? Yes. Is it critical? No. Would I do it for every client I get? Yes.
