I plan to add a directory on a subpage of my 3 years old high traffic website www.osx-e.com but still thinking on whether to make it general directory or niche and whether to make it traditional directory or bidding directory. This is a computer related site where most of visitors are young adults. So they also have an interest in other stuffs too apart from computer, ie music, gadgets, movie, etc. And since the main page of the website have 5000 - 7000 visitors a day, I know if I make a bidding directory, those who listed on frontpage will get decent traffic. I plan to use the existing links section that already have PR4 at www.osx-e.com/links for the directory But I still need your opinion what is the best for the benefit of sites that listed there, my visitors and me as a directory owner. Really appreciate your feedback
I would suggest adding a niche directory there with one geral catagory to target the young adults. However, if you are planning to add the directory as a sub-domain you may add a general directory as well. I am not in favor of adding a bid directory there.
thank you for your feedback. Reason why I want to add bidding directory is the top 10 site on the frontpage will have great exposure and received lots of traffic. I saw lots of people adding bidding directory on subpage of their website to optimize the high traffic of the main site. One thing I don't like about bidding directory script (php link bid) is no sub category support.
you will get sub category support in the update! v1.4 which is almost ready for the release! the v1.2 people will get free update to 1.4! cheers!
bidding directory. If its getting good traffic you need listed sites to benefit from that. Sounds a little like what Chris has done with blaze. I think perhaps a niche of webmaster/technology/computers may work best, but general should be fine aswell. Like utter mentioned, next phpLB release will have subcategories, so that solvest the saturated category problems.
