Just saw Hot Rod and holy shit kids... if you haven't seen it yet, you have to. The movie truly rocks. I don't offer talk about a movie, but this one is definitely the best movie of the year, at least the funniest of the movies that are out this year. The nice thing about it is that there is constant humor, most of which you don't even see coming. Plus, they don't over do any particular type of humor. They are constantly throwing out some crazy random stuff and most of the humor in it is fresh... it just hasn't been done in a movie before, which is pretty rare these days. I'm curious to see what everyone else thought about it. I went with 5 people and all of us have agreed that it was the best comedy ever. And everyone I have talked to so far about it has agreed. It definitely puts the Simpsons to shame... which was for the most part the biggest waste of time fo the year... imagine the tv show but really long, nothing special, at all.
I heard the announcement today that it was the funniest movie in America. Never would have thought that it would do so well.
Have you seen it? If you haven't... once you see it, you will understand. I only saw it because Chuck and Larry was showing way later than we wanted to watch a movie, so we decided that we might as well see Hot Rod... and we definitely weren't disappointed. I was just amazed at how many laughs were packed into the movie, which I figured was going to be horribly stupid.
I am waiting anxiously for superbad as well. It would be awesome if there were two incredible comedies released in the same year. I think the last time I was excited about a comedy like I am for that movie was Harold and Kumar... and it definitely didn't disappoint. So I'm hoping that I'll be laughing my ass off again on the 17th...
this sounds like someone who saw a crappy movie and wants to spread around the misery. like when someone told me to experience Pink Berry.
Nah, I wouldn't do that. It truly is an awesome movie... What is 'pink berry'??? I've never even heard of it... I guess it was that great!
The woman in Hot Rod is superfine...she was the redhead in Wedding Crashers and she's a babe. That's my only reason to want to see Hot Rod!
What? Really? Where is that at? That just blows my mind... this movie isn't for older people, because they just aren't going to get it. It's very much a movie for the younger generation, because a lot of the humor is based on what we find to be funny. There is a lot of stupid humor in there, but it's pretty hilarious how they use it. I even thought that the plot of the movie was pretty well thought out for a comedy. As for Simpsons, I saw that one too, and felt it was mediocre at best. I like the show and was a big fan of it growing up, but I don't think that they really did anything extra with the movie. It seemed like a very long version of their show and nothing more.
this sums up why your opinion is worthless to me. "he wants to be a stuntman, but he sucks" is not a good plot. rottontomatoes.com is where you can find the sum reviews.
There's A LOT more to the plot than that, but I can't really tell you more details than that, because it sort of ruins the movie somewhat. The basic premise is that he THINKS he is a great stuntman, but in reality he is quite pathetic, but still he attempts to do major stunts. The large majority of the movie isn't really based around the stunts themselves, but around the family and the people in his life, that is what is important.
