How to remove indexed urls in Google Index ?

    I have recently switched my Joomla site to Wordpress. So the old links that are indexed in Google won't work and will give 404.

    I believe that these are effecting my ranking and therefore I'm wondering of how to remove them ? from the Index ?

    Any one can help ?

    there is url remove link on the google webmaster tools panel

    If google will not deindex 404 pages itself, then maybe try to add nofollow meta tag into 404 page code and this should help. But needs time to get results.

    403?....this is bad advice. don't say anything if you have no clue what you are talking about....


    HTTP Status Code - 403 Forbidden...why would he want to give a forbidden message?

    do a 301 redirect in your .htaccess file from your old urls to the corresponding new pages...it is tedious but worth it.....
