I have a myspace profile with a premium url. It's not "word" obviously, but it's an extremely high search term and the .com sold for a LOT. Profile gets ~500 unique visitors per day, presumably from type-ins - though the profile is top in Google for the search term "myspace word" (without quotes). Is it worth anything? I saw myspace.com/a was for sale here a while ago, asking x,xxx.
If you are getting constant 500+ visitors everyday and if you profile has decent PR then its worth $xxx. Depends upon the niche and the search volume of the word.
cooolapts it's been receiving that number of visits for well over a year now. It previously had PR3 but not any more for whatever reason - not sure whether Google stopped giving PR to myspace pages or not ... nmx it's not that, but "close" =0) htmlindex the reason I'm not stating the URL is that it's very possible that someone could either attempt to steal it through "phishing" or whatever, or they could report it to MySpace and get it banned - not that there is reason for this to happen, but I am being cautious. From what I hear, MySpace ban first and ask questions never. If I ever decide to sell I will of course take the chance and reveal. Thanks for the comments so far.
Isn't it against the terms of MySpace to sell profiles? Even if its okay, advertising isn't allowed by them so what use would the profile have?
Nora, that's the other reason I haven't revealed the URL. It is against their T&Cs. However, sales do of course still occur and accounts are used for marketing purposes in one way or another. Accounts are usually valued by their "friend count", ie how many people you can send a bulletin to advertising a website or service.
ya. plus this forum is for DOmain appraisals. therefore does this thread really belong here?? plus i think ur profile might be worth XXX with the given uniques
