I have a PR 0 website and last night I got a permanent link on a related PR 5 blog. My questions is how much will my PR increase and how long will it take for it to increase? I'm just antsy to have my PR not be a big fat 0 anymore.
Get more backlinks of course a pr link will effect but why should you take less , the pr can be effected whether the link is no nofollow and the outgoing links from that page etc and other factors effect the pr passed to your site.
It takes time for the PR juice to pass on ... and only google can tell you what PR you will get and Pr prediction tools dont provide accurate results .
You need to understand there's the toolbar PR, and there's the real PR. Toolbar PR is that little green stripe on your Firefox or IE Google toolbar that serves 2 important purposes: (a) forum members have something they can obsess about non-stop instead of focusing on marketing and selling and adding value to their products and services, and (b) Google staff can sit back, relax, open a bottle of beer, hit the magic button, update toolbar PR, and watch the forums go crazy. Toolbar PR is updated every 3-4 months, and is pretty useless. Real PR is updated almost in real time, and it's one of the important factors affecting your rankings. No one knows their real PR value, so people just tend to go ahead with option (a) for Toolbar PR, see above. Warkot
The official PR does influence advertising rates though. For example, if you use textl link ads you will make more if you have a higher pr. Also, when is this next PR update supposed to occur?
Whenever Google decides But it looks as though the PR update will happen very soon, hopefully within the next few days.
SEO is also a major contribution in gaining that PR. If all is set correctly you could even get a PR5 as I have seen this before
