some say celebrity site traffic is plenty, however, that niche is flooded. is it still possible to get traffic? say, 500 uniques a day? what does it take to lets say, get on the front page of a google search for jessica alba or some other well known celebrity? or do you pick a niche that is small. but what size is small? when using the wordtracking tool, is small like < 6000 searches per month?
In fact, they are pretty easy to get traffic, but they are also the most difficult to monetise because their value is low.
To be frank the best advice I can give about 'picking a niche' is simply to pick a subject on which you're knowledgeable or have an interest. In the long run attempting to build and maintain a site that's based around something you've found to contain 'high paying' keywords is a pointless exercise: you can't write original content because you don't know the subject and you have no interest in maintaining the site for the same reasons. Ultimately, building your site will be more enjoyable, and more profitable than attempting to jump on overcrowded 'niche' bandwagons. Jon
I agree. Well said. The problem with a hot niche that you have no real interest in is that if you don't see it take off and make big bucks right away (and it won't), you'll abandon it quickly before giving it the hard work and long hours that it needs. If you choose a topic you have a passion for, you'll more likely stick with it and work hard on it.
