Why is ANYONE still using YPN?

I've been trying to give YPN a chance (versus Google Adsense) for over two years. They keep disappointing with low PPC, poor ad relevancy, and poor support. Adsense gets better, YPN gets worse. Why would anyone still use YPN?????

it sucks, but i still have it on pages that haven't worked well with adsense.

i believe that adsense penalizes you on an account-wide basis for pages that don't perform well.

I had similar results when I tried Yahoo. I can't see myself returning to it. Ad relevancy was definitely a problem for my niche guitar blog. Adsense, on the other hand, has such a wide array of ads that this hasn't been an issue.

If you're banned from adsense it might be a nice fallback :)

i split up the sites i have on adsense, and the ones i've got on YPN. for that reason i can't do too much comparison. Basically i use adsense for x, and YPN for y.

Does that mean that you're using it successfully? I don't often hear of folks having much success with it.

Ad targeting has been good this month which brings in a higher click rate and then earnings are better..

It's all about the targeting.. If yahoo is able to keep it consistent, then it will be ok..

I still like it better then Adsense.. and it does way better then KONTERA.

the penalty is lower epc on pages that would normally earn higher epc, if the keyword conversion data on the rest of the account was "normal".

it's just an opinion, i can't point to anything definitive that would back it up.

Before I was terminated from that mass banning, YPN made me a lot of money. I am not sure how it is now, but it was defiantly a lot better than adsense.

we all wish to see ypn perform better and give adsense a run for its money. anyone has any idea of the revenue sharing ratio with adsense? 20%, 30%?

No Roberts. I dont use YPN. As long as they are giving out cash to publisher regardless how small the amount is, then technically there must be someone out there who is still using it...

    Cheers!

If only there was a way for all the people who have stopped using YPN to give their accounts to people who weren't lucky enough to be included in the beta.

That may be old information. In my case, it was true earlier this year, but no more.

YPN is not bad, they are not as good as AdSense.

They are the second Best as of now and hope they get better than AdSense.

    Hope they get there faster!
