A few months ago Micro$oft made an offer for my domain “Scrizzle.com†(the one I use on this site). First I was quite shocked and dismissed it. I thought it was a Nigerian scammer, but thought it was too well written (no offence). But I ended up laughing it off, why would Micro$oft want to buy my domain!? This was months ago… Yesterday after writing the Verizon post, I decide to give the link to a few friends on my msn. Offence is taken and the way I see you should be removed DP with immediate effect. I am not Nigerian myself although I personally find you highly offensive whilst you may think you are being funny. MODs please ban this person from DP. She/he does not belong to this community. . . .
He said not to take offense. He is clearly not trying to insult anyone. Nigeria has a reputation that can't be denied- and stereotyping does have its benefits in some situations. Moderators will not ban anyone on request unless they actually did something wrong. And as for the OP, Microsoft didn't block your URL from msn. It is actually a bug on MSN Messenger.
If it was a bug why would some urls show and others not? It has been blocked through the filter that messenger has. Sam
Thanks for the backing there... I tried not to offend any one, I was only VOICING my opinion... Just do a search on DP and you will see. I'm not sure if its a bug or not.
That is pretty bad tho, and indeed it looks like they have been filtering your domain since your friend could read the "Got that?" but not the URL. Btw, now that you know that "they" wanted to buy your domain, are you reconsidering to contact them back and ask a little higher price and see their reaction maybe? I mean, is this domain more important for you than the monetary offer they made to you for the domain?
It has nothing to do with your nigerian scam and www.scr***.* and .info are filtered for some reason , use it without www and stop the fake buzz.. This is my conclusion after a 2 min chat with myself lol.
Can't most of us agree that the English in Nigerian scam emails is generally poorer than the English we'd expect in an email from a Microsoft employee? It is possible to be too PC.
I do agree, and I can understand why he wrote that. But I can also understand why some people are saying that its extremely offensive.
Hey yea can you do us all a favor? Quite crying! Your the only one that see it that way and i really think you should get your childish attitude off of dp.
Just tried it out, and he's right, it is being blocked. That sucks bro, you should've just taken the offer, MSN are bad dudes!
I meant with the nigerian scam you mentioned . The scr term is filtered out .. not your domain. Try to send www.scr347839724f.as and will be filtered also.
